Hello..I am new to the site. I was Dx with Breast Kansir(I never spell it right, spelling it correctly gives it power) Dec, 2009 at 37 years old. I found a LARGE lump on my Axilla that seemed to sprout up overnight!!! I then had a Mammogram which came back negative and then the next step was a ultrasound guided lymph node biopsy which is where they finally found the small lump in my right breast
I am thru with my AC and have seven rounds of Taxol behind me and five more to go...then surgery and then five weels of radiation. The AC was really tough on me. The Taxol has been much better. I'm working FT and getting chemo on Fridays. With the taxol I am fatigued but have been blessed, no Peripheral Neuropathy
but I am getting a bloody nose several times a week...yuck! Nails are good and I am treating myself to a mani/ped once a month! My eyebrows and eyelashes have just started to fall out, but I am so proud that they hung in there for me as long as they did!! Yoga has helped the muscle aches, I try to do that at least twice a week
I want to thank everyone for sharing their experiences!!! Stay strong Ladies fight like hell! BauerPower

Welcome bauerpower...lotsa room here to join this wonderful group who are just diagnosed, going thru or checking back after treatment. Stage 3 not a fun place to start...but you are getting thru the treatment and sounding strong....keep it up!

Welcome bauerpower!
This is a great place to come for love and support. Its also great to have your questions answered! I feel very close to these other stage 3 ladies. They are a great bunch! We all support each other because we all have a common enemy! ( kansir!) Love your new spelling for the beast! Hang in there! sounds like the worst part is almost over!
-
Thanks!! I LOVE the PINK boxing gloves!! FIGHT LIKE A GIRL!!!
-
Welcome BauerPower - love your attitude! It sounds like you're right behind me. I just finished up my last Taxol last week. I made through #10 before my nails started turning brown - argh! Still, no big deal in the grand scheme of things. Here's hoping your lack of SE's last the duration.
-
Welcome to our corner of the world. I like your theory about the spelling of 'kansir.' I had forgotten about the nose bleeds but I now recall having a few during tx. Could be due to a low platelet count.
-
Welcome, Bauerpower! Sounds like you are in the countdown to completion of chemo. Come here often, we get it.
-
Welcome Bauerpower - sounds like you have a great attitude and are now in countdown mode - yipeee......
I had nose problems throughout AC and Taxol that seemed to get better about a month after stopping Taxol.
-
Welcome to the boards!
I did AC & Taxol too...finished in Feb 2008. If you have any questions, just ask.
-
Bauerpower.....Welcome to this wonderful group of girls...sure wish you didn't have to go down this journey.....good luck with the rest of your chemo.....Karen

Hi and welcome under the circumstances. Congrats on getting through the A/C. I too had a tough time with it and tolerated Taxol better (with some side effects---dose dense on both).
You sound so positive and upbeat! Good for you, it can be hard at times. Keep us posted on how you are doing!

welcome
you've a great attitude and I like how you spell
-
Welcome!
So glad that your SEs have been minimal. Wish I could have said the same! Oh well, that's behind me now. I hope the taxol continues to be good to you. Surgery is next week for me. Have you decided what type of surgery?
-
Bauer Power,
Welcome from an old timer!
These boards are great for accurate information as well as support. We all " get it" here
. I like your Kick A** attitude !
I am out almost 5yrs from a nasty IIIC and living life large!
Take care & congrats on getting thru AC!

Hope your surgery went well....I have two more Taxols and then I have surgery on June 2. I am starting to get some muscle aches and a touch of numbness in my fingertips....I am blessed that I have made it this long with minimal side effects...ffeewwww. I chose a lumpectomy/axillary lymph node dissection, and every day I am praying that I have made the correct decision. I am wishing you all the best and hope that your recovery is going well!!!! God Bless!!! BauerPower
