    Hi, everyone.  I finished AC, Taxol, and Herceptin for my breast cancer, and now I'm on Zometa infusions.  I just got one yesterday, and I feel horrible.

    I'm tired, I have a headache, and all my joints hurt. 

     I was just wondering if this is a normal reaction, and if so, what makes it better?

    Hi sunshine123 - this is a typical reaction to Zometa - especially the first 2 or 3 times. The flu like symptoms subside naturally after a few hours. If you have plenty of water before the infusion this will make the reaction less - also an anti-histamine can stop the reaction - but ask your onc for one that is safe to use with Zometa. The reaction makes you feel awful - but it does pass and after the first few infusions - it is possible you won't experience that sort of reaction at all. Just take it easy as you can for the 24 hours after the infusion.
