Hi guys, the book is out!
Hi everyone,
most of you know I have been working on a book about life after breast cancer. It started with an article that I wrote for a magazine and had great input from some of you. Well, it is now, finally, available!
It is called
It is a book about reclaiming your life when all the treatments are done. I wrote more about the details on my blog if you are interested.
Thank you to every one of you who has been so supportive since 2004, through two breast cancers and recon and all of it. You BCO girls rock and have been my rock for a long time.
Love,
g

-
Gina...congratulations!
I had no idea the magazine article was going to become a book!
Best to you,
Sam
edited to add: can you pm me the link to the original article again? I can't find it anymore! Thanks.

Thank you everyone!
As a single woman who was first diagnosed at 39, I have learned a lot. And the most important thing I learned is that our doctors, unless they are survivors, have no clue what we are experiencing.
You can buy it on Amazon right now. I have a link to it HERE and all you do is click the amazon link.
It won't be available in book stores for a couple of weeks yet.
Sam, hi! I had gotten so many letters and the response was so amazing about the article - which you so graciously contributed to!- that I was able to present it to my publisher. I remember having to FIGHT with the magazine to even write the article. Why no one wants to talk about this, is beyond me because we sure do!
The article doesn't even touch the surface of what the book does.
The first half deals with the emotional aspect of life post cancer tx: body image, ways to make yourself look your best- lots of great beauty tips in there! The second half deals with relationships, your marriage, being single, dating again, marital rough spots, and then the side effects of tx like vaginal atrophy, libido, etc. There are personal stories that women have shared that are so uplifting as well as very relatable! This book shows you how to reclaim your life, your self esteem and your inner goddess again!
Thanks so much!
love

Gina-
This sounds like the book I have been looking for. I keep going to the bookstore and looking online for something about POST treatment but there just is not much out there. I plan to order one from Amazon. Even though I am over 4 years out I still feel like I have a need to read about some of the issues that remain.

G .. so glad the book is out. When I was first diagnosed, I was so concerned about the intimacy issues with my boyfriend. I tried to find out everything I could, and there just isn't a lot of practical information out there.
Your book is a godsend ... hope you're still writing articles for MAMM .. sure enjoyed reading them while waiting at the cancer center everyday for rads treatment. I felt like I had a friend with me when I would see your name on the article!
You rock dear friend!
love,
Bren
EDITED: G .. this book would be a big help to the gals at my cancer center. Do you have any brochures or info I can leave at our cancer center or my surgeons office?
-
Gina,
Look time no see! I haven't been online in ages and ages.

I'll send you a snail mail note to catch up!
