Michelle - did not realize you going to a job fair while in NY this weekend - good luck. Is this the wedding that your needed the tailor for? We'll catch up on the drive.
See the NY group tomorrow. This is exciting, I haven't done anything exciting in a while.
-
Buddy...It is great to hear from you!
Beth...I am recovering nicely and gaining energy back every day.
-
Hey Ladies! Have a Ball Enjoy Every Minute!! Save Travels! Can't wait for the pics!!! Love you all! Dawn
-
Patti, we'll make sure you have a blast! I can't believe you live so close to NYC and haven't gone in so many years. I was just there with my mom a few weeks ago. Yes, this is the wedding I need the tailor for, and I really have to get a move on that! Ironically, I need to have cups sewn into my dress. I can't really wear a bra with it, and it needs just a little something. I'm the matron of honor.
Good news! I don't need to come back down to go to the Philly job fair! There's another on May 1, so I'll go to that one instead.

Can't wait to see the pictures, girls! And a video too would be wonderful. I would so love to hear all your different accents. Eat, drink and be merry, and post all the gory details here!
Buddy, great to see you here!

Hi Girls!
Remember me? Just popped in to wish all those going to NY a 'FAB' weekend, I think about you all often even though I am tardy about posting. Wish I could be meeting up with you all too, but I am getting married over in the UK next month and pennies are tight! Maybe if there is another one you could all come down here to Miami!
Anyway safe journeys and I look forward to seeing the pictures!
Hugs
Julie
-
Julie...I say we come visit you in Miami and then go on a weekend cruise to the Bahamas!!!
Nice to hear from you and....CONGRATULAITONS!!
CHRIS

Thanks Chris.....just read you have tickets for Mamma Mia, you will love it! I saw it on Broadway a couple of years ago, we went for the weekend to celebrate my Partners 50th and a friends 40th who was not particularily an ABBA fan but she was singing along with the rest of us and thoroughly enjoyed it!

Hi Ladies,
The NYC weekend turned out great. I was not able to attend the brunch today as my 28 year old nephew died on Thursday at the start of the weekend and today was his funeral. He was a chronically ill child who was severely disabled. He was born with a Jewish Genetic disease . But he lived his life to the fullest. In the past two years he went on two cruises, to Israel and to Disney World. He was loved by so many. Four hundred people came to his memorial service today to eulogize him. He walked using a walker , had difficuly breathing and was legally blind but always felt he had a great life. He loved going to dinner, movies, Broadway shows and to Knicks and Mets Games. All who knew him immediately fell in love with his charm , humor , spirit and good nature . Much of this was credited to his family and the life they provided for him, despite his handicaps ,my brother who died almost two years ago of pancreatic cancer, his mother also a BC survivor and his devoted brother and sister. Some looking in would have thought that his life was a challenge but to Daniel it was a gift just to be alive. He died peacefully in his sleep which was also a blessing.
When I found out about his death while getting my nails done Thursday afternoon I did not know what to do about the weekend. My DH and I went over to my SIL's house spoke a while to the family and then I made my decision. Daniel my dear nephew would have wanted me to go on with my plans. Yes I was sad at times but felt I was doing the right thing. It was also ironic that during my BC journey which has lasted over one year and a half my sil, neice and older nephew showed little or no concern over my chemo, cancer, MRSA virus, and eight surgeries.
I spoke at the service today and had many dear friends and family come to pay their respect to dear Daniel. I must say that loosing someone unexpectantly is quite a difficult thing. There is no preparation and I cannot believe that tomorrow he will not call to make plans to take me out for my birthday next week.
So please do not take it as me being callous that I went ahead with the weekend and enjoyed myself. Dear Daniel will always be special to me and all that knew him.
Hugs,
Francine

Hi all..
Well, my feet have been properly soaked and I'm including some pics from the NYC weekend. Everyone had a great time. I'm sure other pics will be posted as we all took many. And I think some will be posted on the facebook page as well.
Pickle (Beth P), Bethr (me), and Crusader (Francine) at the United Nations.
The whole group on Friday night (minus Nasharene (Tanashe) who met us Thursday night for dinner) PattiB, Pickle, Crusader, DiddleDiane, BethR, MichelleinSJ, ChrisC433). (Diane's daugher Ann Marie is not shown in the pic and unfortunately I don't have any taken of her. She's 5 and adorable!)
At the Museum of Art
In the Subway after Central Park and Tiffany's... (Tiffany's was out of this world)
A view from the Staten Island Ferry...
Francine (Crusader) organized dinner at John's Pizzeria Thursday night (great pizza), a trip to the United Nations for lunch on Friday, dinner at Dalles BBQ Friday night, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Central Park, Tiffany's, and dinner on Saturday night. She made sure we were all taken care of. What a tremendous feat! Thanks again Francine! You have set the bar for the next trip. And in regards to your nephew, from the way you described him to us this weekend and in your post, I feel you definitely made the right decision. He would have wanted you to enjoy yourself and I bet he was looking down on you with a huge smile on his face.
We also tried to get on the NBC morning show and Chris and her sister Cindy were patient enough to do it at the very end of the show.
All I can say is I had a fantastic time. I was so happy to meet everyone. After all we went through on the boards I felt I had known them my whole life and am honored to be part of the group.
I can't wait to do it again and hope the next time more of you Warrior Princeses are able to make it.
Have a great night....
Beth

Great Pictures BethR. It was a wonderful weekend and great to meet everyone. Francine thanks for making the itinery and privite tour of the city. Beth P - thanks for making the hotel accommodations - the hotel was great (we didn't really spend too much time in the rooms - only to sleep), company and conversations were great, ay (love your accent). Michelle thanks again for the ride and you are another great private guide, with you by my side and Francine I didn't need the "NYC mass transit book for dummies" LOL. Diane & Tick Tock - so enjoyed meeting my chemo twin and a "little" from your family. Chris and Cindy - next time you are taking me shopping with you, great meeting both of you.
Back to the real world - work tomorrow.

The ladies were so fun...we ate, talked, shopped, ate, talked, ate, and LAUGHED!! The "Defending the Caveman" show was soooo funny. Dinners were great. Shopping in Little Italy and Chinatown is always interesting!
Francine and Beth you did a great job organizing everything and we are all so grateful. You made sure we had a good time.

Take care ladies.... and thanks for the laughs!

Well it's 1:15 a.m. Edmonton time and I just got home. I had such a great time and I am so grateful that I had the chance to meet everyone. Ahhh...life is good. Thanks again to Francine for such a fantastic planning job. Francine I am glad that the service for your nephew went well. 400 people, that says a lot about your nephew.
I will post more later...gotta get some sleep eh!

Hey Ladies of NYC! It looks like you had a great time!! Sorry to have missed it. I am 2 weeks post SX and go back to work tomorrow. The worse part of the ordeal was as usual, the drains, last one came out Thurs.HOORAY!! The good news is I am symmetrical for the first time in almost 2 years!!! I can move so much better now! My implant had dropped so far that I couldn't bend over right!! What a relief!
Francine! So sorry to hear about the loss of your nephew!!

Hi ladies,
Hope all are doing well. Still trying to catch up after my busy weekend. Hope to see the photos of others.

dear all
I love the video of you all saying hello! Thank you Diane for filming and all of you for saying hello. And all the pictures are wonderful. Francine, I am very sorry to hear of your nephew's death, but agree with others that you honoured him in your choices.
Dawn - so glad to hear you are symmetrical and happy.
Julie - you are getting married? That's fantastic news!
Here in Melbourne life is not as exciting as it is in New York New York, but it is okay. I really need to knuckle down and get healthy - as the weather gets colder so the temptation to sit on the couch eating macaroni cheese grows and grows!

Helloooo Warriors
Below is a link to some pics from our New York City Meet, Greet and Eat weekend. It was a lot of fun and we are already planning a get together next year, For all of those warriors who missed this first one...jump on board for the next one in 2011. It was comprised of an amazing, lovely, thoughtful, wonderful group of women. We are all defined by so much more than breast cancer. Truly an inspiring experience and actually we didn't talk much about cancer....I thought cancer would be the one thing we have in common but honestly we are all so much more than that and we are not cancer. We are women, mothers, daughters, sister, friends, citizens.....there is nothing like a group of women to lift your spirits and make you soar. Cancer does not define us! I feel rejuvinated. Thanks to all that came to New York and thanks to all the March warriors. It doesn't matter whether you drop by daily, monthly, quarterly or whatever...each and every March Warrior has been an important part of this journey.
Love and hugs to all....Beth P

Very well said Beth. I agree 100%.

Here...here! I had an awesome time and spending time with friends...not breast cancer survivors, is what made this trip so special.
I will post picks tonight (fingers crossed!)

Hi Friends,
Beth you said it so well. Yes it was nice to meet the other Princesses but it was also great to meet and make new friends..Yes we learned about each other..our families, husbands, children ,jobs, etc. It was just fun being out with the girls. We could speak about our cancer experiences and how much the board helped us all but to many of us it is becoming a distant memory and now we are all looking forward to making newer and better memories such as we did on a trip to NYC. We are all moving on. How great is that.
It was a blast this weekend ,despite my unfortunate circumstances..I do hope all enjoyed NYC as much as I enjoyed planning it.
Can't wait to get together again. 2011 here I come..
Beth your slide show was fabulous. sent it to my dear friends to view.
Chris. Would love to see your pictures. We booked our cruise to Bermuda for August 8th today. See you there.
Hugs,
Francine
