Hair still very thin on top

I finished Chem Nov. 2008, my hair has been coming in nicely, but still bare on top, i had thining hair in front before chemo, (but not this bad), - do you think eventually this will get better also? I am taking tamoxifen.

My last chemo treatment was April of 08 and I also feel that my hair is very thin on top. I do not take any other medicine, so I believe that it is from chemo only. It grows like crazy on the sides and the lower part of the back of my head. It reminds me of the way a baby's hair grows in
.
Anyway, let me know if you hear of an way to thicken it up....I have tried various shampoos and just don't see a difference.

Oh dear. I finished chemo April 09 and still thin on top. I figured it was only a matter of time, but if you ladies finished before me it looks like it's a matter of A LOT of time.
The hair on my legs is sparse now - I rarely have to shave. No problem with that!

I hate to say it and maybe i'm not the norm here but I finished chemo in May 2007 and it wasn't until Summer of 2009 that I noticed suddenly that my hair looked almost as thick as before. I only noticed because I suddenly was receiving compliments and that hadn't happened for so long, I didn't believe them at first! It was only when a friend of my teen son, also a teenager complimented my hair that I started really noticing again that wow,, it does look good! The only thing I did differently in the few months before was start taking a really, really good B supplement. It's made by Jarrow and is called B-Right.

Hi... I don't know if this has any merit or not, but in another post some people mentioned taking biotin (a B vitamin) to help hair growth. I know it's supposed to be good to strengthen hair and nails; whether it helps hair grow in better, I don't know. Check with your dr. first, of course, but it certainly can't do any harm.
FWIW -- probably nothing
-- I took B6 and B12 throughout chemo and still take B6 twice a day. I did/do it for neuropathy, and B6 and 12 are not the same as biotin, but my hair started growing back as soon as I finished A/C; the first couple of months it was slow and sparse but even, and now (about 6 months out), I've had my first trim and it's thick and growing evenly and well. I've probably had 2" of growth. I'd be curious to know if others taking 6 & 12 have had similar experiences. It's probably just the luck of the draw that my hair grew back in well but inquiring minds and all that...

I think it's the Tamoxifen, my hair is thin on top, "but hope springs eternal". My chemo. was finished in Oct. 08, and I think it finally getting a bit thicker, and I've been using Biotin. About two weeks ago, I bought Nioxin shampoo/conditioner, and I'm wearing out my hand held mirror, wishing for hair, hair, hair........mirror mirror on the wall, let's all get hair and have a ball.
