Leg pain and loss of taste buds post TC chemo

Options

I am drinking plenty of water after my first dose of TC chemo but I find that I still have a chalky taste. Also has anyone taken Claritan or benedry to help alleviate joint pain after taking neulasta?

Hi, megaj5 ~ There's a lengthy thread here called Anyone On Just Cytoxan & Taxotere (or something like that; check the Chemotherapy Forum in the Forum Index, above).  You'll find ongoing discussions about side effects from TC, as well as what to do for the pain from Neulasta.  As I recall, Claritan is great for that.  I got the generic one @ Target (the regular formula, not the D one), and it helped a lot with that deep throbbing pain.  You can also use Extra Strength Tylenol.  As far as the chalky taste, do you have Biotine mouthwash?  You can also get it at Target.

Good luck, and keep drinking that water.  It's the best thing you can do.   Deanna

It was my 1st 4 rounds of chemo. I used Zerteck for the bone pain associated with this chemo. Plus I rinsed my mouth about 900 times a day with Biotene mouth wash. It help promote wetness in the mouth which helps. Biotene also makes a gum that I kept on hand for when I was out. I found myself eating spicy foods also, so I could taste them. Rice, beans, and soft tacos were my staple food for months. They knew me by name at the Mexican Restaurant down the road LOL. Plus get some plastic silverware it helps with the taste issue too.
