Picture Forum?
I've read this term several times, and wondered what it is and where can I find it?

Hi c,
I'm quoting myself and two other posters from our responses to someone else asking the same question!
Me: The picture forum was privately set up, is privately owned, maintained and run by TimTam (that's her BCO user name). To get access, you have to send TimTam a PM (Private Message).
At this very moment, she is recovering from surgery -- so be patient!
Remember that this is entirely a labor of love/volunteer effort on her part.
Also (to quote HairSprayMom/Regina ): "There is a public Pic forum on www.youngsurvival.org. Just go under bulletin boards- reconstruction and at the top you will see it. There are thousands of pics in there of all different types of recon procedures."
And (to quote Deborah48): "For you ladies who would like to see some photos of progress, you can visit my blog spot. Please note that this site is to help those in need... Thanks. http://deborahbreastcancer.blogspot.com/"
good luck!

Hey Girls! I just wanted you to know that everyone is in my thoughts and prayers. It wasn't until today that I found sites like Exchange City and Sizing 101... I had my DMX on 1/25/10... with TE.. I went in blind... I didn't know what a mastectomy looked like , not even TE....I just did what my Drs, told me to do. I have been on this site since I was diagnosed in Dec. 09. I guess I really don't know how to work a computer... I guess what I am trying to say, if it wasn't for this site, and the help of my January sisters, I would be mentally crazy.... Love this site. I told a friend who was newly diagnosed last week also about the site... I guess I will learn as I explore.

Mods, if you set up a picture forum you would have to be very clear in explaining that there is no privacy on this website and anyone, members or not, can come on to this site and will be able to view the pictures. Breastcancer.org also pops up right near the top of the list whenever someone googles anything about breast cancer, which is a good thing for this site, but also means that pictures that are posted will get a lot of exposure. Every so often there is a furor on this board when someone realizes that information that they've posted on this discussion board can be googled and is available for anyone on the internet to read. Since that sometimes raises a lot of concern, I can imagine what the concern would be if someone posted pictures, not fully realizing just how public this board is.
The difference of course with Timtam's private website is that she maintains control over who has access, she regularly monitors who is coming to the site to ensure that there are no intruders and the site doesn't show up on a google search. I'm sure that there are some women who would be fine with posting their reconstruction pics on a public board but I suspect that most women would prefer a private site.

I personally would not post my pics on a non-controlled site, for the very reasons Beesie states. Many of the recon surgical sites have before and after photos, neck down, but that's not the same as a web board where comments are left, and screen names are used.
