PBM + DIEP - DONE (Yippee)

After a year and half of being on the "Do I do it?" or "Do I wait?" rollercoaster, I am done with it all. Last Monday (3/29) I had my PBM with DIEP at Beth Israel in Boston. Other than learning that I have a sensitivity to morphine and had trouble coming our of anesthesia, everything went very well. I am sooooooooooooo happy and sooooooooo relieved. Being on this side of it is so much easier than being on the other side and waiting (for me). While I recover I will continue to update my blog. This week I am doing a comparison between how I felt last week this time and this week. Feel free to visit at www.breastcancermom.blogspot.com. I will not show body part pictures, but be warned that in todays' post there is a very very unappealing picture of me. They all get better from here.

I know what it is like to wonder what you should do and it is a very tough decision. It is a decision only you can make. No one knows what it is like to be high risk and have the decision to have risk-reducing surgery be yours and yours alone.

My best to everyone who is or has traveled this road!!!

Thank you!! My blog seems to be a part of my 'therapy', especially when I see the progress from week to week. It's hard to imagine I would normally post such awful photos of myself, but it helps to see just how fast we can recover!!!   My best to you all!!!
