Hello I am Emma

I am doing a project at college about Genetics and Cancer, as I would like to go on to university and study Molecular Genetics. I thought it would be good would start with Breast Cancer as this is one of the most common Cancers in women.

I would like to know, women who are suffering from Breast Cancer - Did your Mother, Sisters etc suffer from Breast Cancer also.

I would also like to know women who are suffering from Breast Cancer - There is no family history of Breast Cancer.

This would be much appreciated help towards my project. I will not use names, it will be totally anonymous. The only people who may see this work would be myself, the marker and moderator. Thank you so much.God Bless.

You need permission from the moderators of the forum before posting requests such as these.

To contact the moderators, go to their profile page:

    http://community.breastcancer.org/member/56097/profile

In the upper right part of the screen, click on "send Member a private message."

By the way, I work in medical research, and research such as this is supposed to be reviewed by your school's Institutional Review Board (IRB) -- even if it is considered "exempt" because it will be anonymous, your IRB is supposed to review the plan (protocol) for the project, decide that it is in fact exempt, and give you a waiver of exemption before you begin the study.

If the Moderators here do give you some kind of approval, you might consider using Survey Monkey or some other on-line survey software.  If approved by the Mods, you could then just post a link to your Survey.  That would more likely be truly anonymous than expecting women to answer your questions in this thread.  [Since you apparently didn't know how the Private Message (PM) system works here, and you didn't provide instructions about how to answer your questions, it doesn't seem like you intended to have women answer by PM.  It seems like your plan was to have women respond in comments on this thread, which would not pass muster as "anonymous" for any IRB.]
