Joni1 - so happy to see your post!  I hope you have healed quickly from radiation and are feeling GREAT!

Joni2 - YEA!!! YIPEEE!!! WHOOOT! on the clear mammo!

It is so nice to hear all the updates from our July Jedi's and I will put a reminder in calendar to make sure to check here on June 16th!

My hair is very thick but is not growing any longer Frown I hope to update my avatar as soon as someone takes a picture of me with hair!  I have learned how to manage my LE in my trunk and right arm and my DH is becoming an expert at Manual Lymphatic Drainage (I am so blessed to have a DH who is so willing to help me manage the LE as I am not so sure I could do it on my own),

I hope everyone is doing well!

Happy cancerversary Joni2! May you have many, many more!

It's not quite a year since my diagnosis but I have had the anniversary of finding a weird dimple under my armpit that started this whole journey for me. I look back and think "Did I really go through all that?" Now my hair is growing again and I am enjoying getting my life back. DH and I will be going to Jersey for a few days after Easter, which I'm really looking forward to.

Michelle I'm glad you are managing your LE and that your DH is able and willing to help you.

Wishing you all a very Happy Easter.

I'm counting from diagnosis too, totally agree about the world changing once you hear those words.

The anniversary of my date of surgery will definitely bring back some memories too. This time of year seems to be just full of anniversaries asociated with bc.

    Hello all

Jayne  - I spent 2 weeks in England in March, visiting family and friends for the first time since bc began. Had a blast. Also found I was able to go topless while there. My hair sudenly started sticking straight up and I felt OK going topless and haven't looked back.

Gill - I'm glad you had a good time visiting England, and great news about going topless. My hair is also sticking up, it's a bit out of control but I don't mind it and feel OK topless. My only problem with it is that sometimes it can get a bit cold and I need a hat. Nobody seems to give my hair a second glance though.

Nick and I are going to Jersey, Channel Islands for a few days from Thursday. I'm really looking forward to having a relaxing break.

hey triple j's, Got my first haircut in 10 months today. It is still very gray and short but it is hair and looks good. Even can give myself a hairdo and blow dry it. It came in thicker and wavey. Had my last reconstrction surgery on Wednesday. Had a nipple put on, very painless and quick. I am counting the days down till a year. It has been a quick one. Hope all are feeling well  and doing great.Dianne

Two trims and a color for me. Hair is so different than pre chemo. About 1 and a half inches long. Still wear wig. Wondering if that is causing the air to not lay down correctly. It definitely has a mind of its own. Mammo came back normal...yay. Port out yesterday. Tumor markers normal. For now all is well. Still pursuing recon in the fall. What a difference a year makes.

Well we had a good break in Jersey and managed to fly back again before the volcano errupted in Iceland. No planes are taking off or landing in the UK at the moment because of the cloud of volcanic ash over the country.

I got my hairdresser to give my hair a good trim before we went away. I had trimmed it a little myself to get rid of some of the longer bits sticking up, but she was able to shape it better than I can. Apart from the length and sticking up it looks much the same as it did before, same colour, similar texture etc.

Dianne congrats on finishing your reconstruction! I still have that to do, my surgeon says I can do my exchange any time after June. I thought during the college summer break would be good if we can get that set up.

Joni1 hooray for your good test results and having your port out. What a year we have all had. Take care all you Triple J's and enjoy the rest of your weekend. xoxoxo

Hello everyone, Today is the day that I started on this journey, one year ago, they found a lump deep in the breast. It has been one quick and sometimes very long year. I have met some great people, All the people on this site have been the best. We might not know each other face to face but we are sisters in spirit. Our spirit is what got me through. I am off to the PS today for a check after surgery last week. Then off to all the doc visits in the next few weeks. I am going to celebrate the day I am here and so is everyone else on this thread. We are strong and will live forever.Big Hugs to all  Dianne
