I participated in the SWOG-0307 trial. I took Ibondronate for 3 years with no evidence of bone Mets for 2 1/2 years. My last scan at the end of the trial shows bone mets! I was floored, my Oncologist was shocked. This was not the "Happy Ever" I had expected. A cancer researcher had warned me of the "too much too soon or not enough too late" with this trial as dosing and timing are crucial.

I do not believe I would be cancer free if I had not participated in this trial but the Mets were discovered early because I was being monitored closely. So the adventure continues, praying for a cure but would settle for "stable". I failed this study or Ibondronate fail me but it may a treatment option for others.
