ILC & side rib pain

edited June 2014 in ILC (Invasive Lobular Carcinoma)

I was diagnosed in August of 08. Had a bilat with reconstruction right away and doing ok with that. The last few weeks I have noticed it is sore on my left side rib bone. I have not done anything to cause this I can think of. Do not want to jump to possible recurrence so I am just wondering if anyone has had this occur. I see my Dr in a few weeks for a 6 month follow up.

Any input is appreciated

    Ask your Doc if a PET scan would work?  After I was diagnosed, my doc had me have one and now any ache I get is just that - an ache!!  Isn't the not knowing the worst of all!!!!  Hang in there!!!Wink

    I had rib pain just like you describe, although I forget the exact time frame. It was bad enough that I had a bone scan - which was all clear. 

    FYI, I am now four years out from Stage 1 ILC.

    The reconstruction can cause rib pain for awhile after. I had my exchange to silicone surgery last Aug and I still get occ rib pain. I had had radiation which can cause pain also. Most posts say to give it a few weeks and get checked if it continues.
