Off to help more docs practice surgery
Kind thoughst will be appreciated this Thurs as I take advantage of modern medicine with a new hip. All shiny and hopefully a significant reduction in pain and increased ability to walk more thatn 50 feet.
I'm almost exactly 6 mos from my back fusion, so should be really doing well. LOL, I get a new knee in another 6 mos and then likely the other hip. La, La, La, I do hope the people with the white coats will catch me before I get too many new parts and don't recognize my body any longer! (or maybe that would be a good thing?)

Dotti, my dad got a new hip about 3 yrs ago, after the surgery he picked up a staff infection that made the healing a little bit longer than anticipated but is doing great now, then about 2 yrs ago had bone spurs removed from his back. He went to his back doctor two weeks ago and found out that they think he has more bone spurs, he had an MRI yesterday to see how bad. He may be in for more surgery in the near future.
Good luck Thursday.

Dotti - it just seems like three weeks or so that you were prepping for your back surgery. You must have incredible healing capacities. Does your ortho doc give you a discount - you know, buy two get the the third one free!
Heal up quickly so you can enjoy your summer!

OOOOOOOoooo I am SO jealous! I finally have an ortho appointment for April 13th!! Hoping for 2 new ones or at least plates. I drive sitting sideways in the car.
Good luck!

Thanks all, and you understand if you are in line for these types of surgery. I'll ask her about a discount, of course with Medicare, she doens't make much anyway. LOL
My daughter is donating a bike bell for the walker and I had the zipper/pocket thingy monogrammmed: Dotti Diva! Will hope for a balloon to keep me cheerful. LOL.

the best to you iodine! After the first 6 weeks of rehab, I love love love my new knee and could kick myself for not doing this sooner. Instead of "Remember the Alamo" a surgical girl should have "Remember the stool softener!" Speedy recovery!

Dotti.
Thinking of you, and wishing for a speedy recovery. Hope this surgery is not as painful as your back surgery.
Fast healing....(((((Hugs))))

iodine, If you had your hip replacement on Thursday you might (probably) be home by now.
I had a total hip replacement just about two years ago. I am totally happy with the results - I have no limitations on my activities due to hip pain, I hope all went well with your surgery and you recover quickly. Good luck!
