Am I experiencing early menopause?

Options

Not sure if this is the best category to place this thread however I am in my last week of radiation and need help with this.

I finished chemotherapy in October 2009 and got my menstural cycle back almost immediately (darn it!) When it returned, I noticed that is was very dark and just assumed it was because my body was readjusting to life without chemo. Recently I have noticed that I am getting the cycle almost twice a month.

Is this a sign of early menopause? Or is this just the body taking it's time to regulate itself?

I had no period through chemo and then had one 6 months post chemo (11/09) and another 4 months after that one (3/10). My blood tests show me being pre-meno again. (Tested post meno 1 month after chemo ended.) So I just think the body takes some adjusting and depending on how close you were actually to being in menopase before chemo, you may or may not return to normal regular cycles.

I had no periods during chemo, and one durings rads and post-treatment.  You may or may not get your period back --it all depends.

Thanks ladies for your responses. I will bring this up to the doctor the next time I see him.

I have not had a period since the first infusion of Chemo which has been 9 months ago.  I had FSH test a month ago which turned out high and in the menopausal state- HOWEVER when I visited the Gynecologist last week and she reviewed the blood work-- she said that it didn't matter how high FSH level is because Chemo brings your FSH level up.  She said that she had patients who didn't have a period for a year or two after Chemo and then Wham-- it came back!!
