Supplement suggestion
This isn't really related to BC, but I thought some of you natural girls might have some information on heavy and long periods! There's been talk about removing my uterus during the time of my exchange. I R E A L L Y don't want to....I'm kinda a yogi, practice some Qigong and have done the recommended exercises for this condition. Nothing has helped so far. Are there any supplements to help with blood flow? I just don't want anything that could raise my estrogen levels.

Catherine, I don't blame you for not wanting to have this surgery. Read up on natural progesterone cream. There is a whole thread on here about it, and many of the women on it swear by the book by Dr. John Lee "What your doctor may not tell you about breast cancer." Also, I've read that vitex, also known as chasteberry, is supposed to be good at balancing hormone levels and regulating menses, so you may want to research that as well.

Catherine--yes, too much menses means you don't have enough progesterone... that your estrogen is dominating your wimpy progesterone. Get the book suggested above.

GREAT suggestions above... also, have you tried acupuncture? That was something that helped immensely with my blood flow to my reproductive organs.
(The reason I know this is that I've had problems conceiving a baby... three sessions of acupuncture, and I did conceive naturally... VERY strong implantation which is indicative of good blood flow... and although I ended up losing the baby because it had a chromosome problem, the ultrasound that showed I had lost the baby also showed immense healthy bloodflow throughout the uterus, placenta and sac... sorry for the TMI but that's just to say that my increased bloodflow to the reproductive organs wasn't just me "feeling" like it had improved... ultrasound showed it had vastly, dramatically improved, and acupuncture was the only variable that had changed.)
Oops, I just read your post more carefully (sorry!) and obviously you don't need MORE blood flow, but acupuncture also can indirectly help balance your estrogen/progesterone in conjunction with things like progesterone cream (definitely recommend reading Dr. Lee's book for much more info).

rgiuff - THANKS!!! I just ordered it from Amazon. I looked into the chasteberry and it's not recommend for women who have had BC or have high risk. But I will be looking forward to the read the book.
Molly - At least I know why. Now I know don't have enough progesterone. Can foods help this? Also, I wonder if this is something that I put into a smoothy?
Crunchy - I'm sure this information will help someone about your conceiving. But I should have thought of acupuncture. I don't know of anyone, but I'm sure my yoga teacher will have someone she can recommend!
Thanks ladies!! I knew I'd get some great answers:)-c
