Worried as always
Five years ago I had dbl mast. Two significant DCIS in left and one 3mm IDC in right. No chemo or rad. No node involvement. Had expanders, saline implants which failed and now have silicone implants. I am having concerns because nothing is being checked again. What kind of tests do you ladies get? I am thinking possibly ultrasound. Mamm is out of the question because of the implants. I worry that I am growing something under my implants. I have itching under the right one (which is impossible to scratch!!) and lately pain just off center of the same one. Going to see my gp in two weeks and not sure what to ask for. Thanks for your help (again ... I love this forum).

I have implants and had a mammo! I was shocked when they told me they still give mammo's to people with implants. Everything was fine. They did a lot more pictures that a normal one. They can actually move the implants to do the pics.

I had the same thing done as you. dbl mast, recon and silicone implants, no chemo or rad, no lymph involvelment I was told by my onc. in CA that I need to have an MRI every year to check for any changes, we just moved to MO and the onc out here said I didn't need to do anything unless I had symtoms so I talked to my GP and he ordered a ultrasound when I got there to have it done they said this won't help you, you need an MRI so I had that done and it turned out alright...I have the same itching and random pain, the itching is from your deep scar tissue, I haven't figured what causes the pain yet but I'm thinking it's the mussle not wanting to be where it was put. I hope this helps, Carol

Earlybird,
My GF and I were talking about this very thing today. I've been worried over itching and pain from time to time. She was telling me that she also has itching and pain, and she had a DM with no chemo or rads. I honestly think that you're probably experiencing pain from some scar tissue.
Peace,
Bobbie

Early,
I'm just 1 1/2 years from a uni diep, but I find it difficult to explain the deep itching sensation I sometimes get. It seems to come in waves for a few days, and then dissapears. It is so intense, but there is no place to scratch. I've been told that it is stimulation of the nerves that have been severed during the surgery. What ever it is, it can be so annoying
Saw that your post was feb 26 so I hope you had a good outcome.
