special gift needed for sisters
Hi All:
I've met with hospice and they have me all set up. My sisters are really sad and I know my brother is too. My sister's Bday (they are twins) is coming up toward the end of March. I wanted to get them each a nice necklace, not too expensive, just so they have something special from me. I found these gift box and Note necklaces made my Thomas Kincaid that are for sisters. They are just over $100.00 and the sentiment behind them is so sweet. You can order them from a couple of different websites. I can't find any physical store where you can actually go take a look at them. I was just wondering ... Has anyone ever seen these in person? I hesitate ordering something just from a picture .... I told my girlfriend I want her to take me to a couple of jewelry stores tomorrow cause I have a couple other ideas if I could find what I was looking for. Just thought I would try posting here to see if anyone was familiar with them. I need to get something for my brother too. If anyone has thought of really sweet momentos, please share with me. I figure the one positive thing about this is you do get a chance to tell those that you love, just how much you do.
Thank you all,
linda

Hey Linda,
sorry I don't know about this jewellry - you are just the sweetest person - thinking of your siblings - excellent that you are planning a shopping expedition - I know what you mean about ordering online - I much prefer to see things rather than buy sight unseen - unless it is a book or something where is just cannot be too different from the picture

Linda - I agree.....how sweet to think about momentos for your family. This hadn't occurred to me, but what an amazing idea. Is the note on the Kincaid sister necklace already written or one that you wrote? I would love to write something and have matching necklaces made for my close family members. xx00xx lisa

Kenzie, you are such a sweet person......I troo have seen them in magazines but not in person.....I CAN tell you though that Thomas Kinkaid makes very beautiful jewelry.......It is a great idea to give them something special just from you.......My sister Maryann gave me some of her antique salt and pepper sets before she passed last March.......Every time I see one of them I stop and think of her and her wonderful smile and cute little laugh.........I miss her terribly but know she is better off andnot suffering anymore from the emphysema that took her.........I was very fortunate to be by her side in her last minutes on Earth and I will treasure those moments forever........
I am sorry to hear you are going into hospice........As my friend Faithandfifty likes to say, Strength and Courage, Strength and Courage........ -
Linda,
I echo the other sentiments as to what a lovely person you are ithinking of buying gifts for your family.
I'm sure whatever you choose will be cherished by your family forever.
Godspeed & Hugs,
Jelly

For anyone interested in the necklaces google kincaid necklace sister and you will find them. They are sold at some collectables.com website and are made by Thomas Kincaid, the painter of light guy. The notes are already etched on the necklaces. Both are very sweet sentiments. I am going to the store tomorrow and if I can't find anything, I am going to go ahead and order both of them the gift box necklace. What it says on it just makes you cry when you read it and it is so sweet. I hope it doesn't look cheap. Anyways, if I end up getting them, I will post and let you all know what I think of them.
Take care all of you,
Linda

Linda - I think that necklace is going to look beautiful and it is a really sweet saying! These look nice and not cheap so you are probably safe if you don't find something in the stores. I can't wait to see what you wind up with!!

Hi Kensie-
I hope it's Ok for me to respond on this thread. I wasn't quite sure what this was about but since it's about a Thomas Kincade item, I thought I'd let you know of my experience. I ordered the TK prayer box for my Mom for Xmas off of the collectibles.com website. I too was nervous about not seeing it but I thought it was perfect for her in memory of my Dad who passed away in Sept. I was not disappointed and she absolutely loves it. It is perhaps a bit smaller then the picture but all in all, I am really happy I got it for her. I don't think you can go wrong, particularly with the incredible meaning for your sisters.
God Bless you.
Ellen

kenzie, I have never seen anything that looked remotely cheap about any of Thomas Kincade items. That necklace is just absolutely beautiful and perfect. What a very special kind sister you are to your family. God bless and keep you.

I can't wait to see them! I am also glad to hear from REKoz and Spar2 about the quality :>
-
I am looking forward to seeing them too! What a nice idea...... Linda

Will also be looking to see what you think of your order. What a wonderful thing to do.

Have you found any ideas for your brother yet?
-
Hi Patti:
No, have not found anything for brother yet. I was thinking about some sort of engraved wooden box that he could put something in. There use to be a shop at a mall near me that sold that sort of unique stuff. I haven't found anything online. He's really not into anything in particular like golf, fishing, hunting, etc. He does like to drink beer, lol. His Bday is not until May, so I have some time. I am hoping to get out to the mall one day and take a look around. I am open to suggestions if anyone has any. I have not reced the necklaces yet. They should be here any day and I will let you guys know what they look like when I get them

Hi All:
I recd the necklaces. I bought one of each. I am not sorry I bought them. The chain looks cheap .... just a silver chain .... But honestly, I don't know what kind of quality necklace I would have found at a jewelery store for around $100.00 each. And still when I read the inscription for each necklace, I tear up. I think they are worth it just for the sentiment. Their Bdays are a week from today. They are planning on getting margarita makings and dinner from a nice restaurant and coming over to my house to celebrate. I will give them the gifts then. I think they will like them.

What a special idea...you are so sweet. I send my sister wind chimes every year for her b-day - it is Sunday and I found these heavy bong-bong gregorian style...her neighbors are going to just love her - but this necklace has a special meaning - I think that will be the gift for next year. And brothers - they are hard to buy for to begin with...as mine just bought a new home, I was thinking of a hand painted stepping stone to place in his garden - he knows how much I love flowers - and send it with a few bulbs of my favorites. Come to think of it...maybe I will do that for all the family members - kinda keep me 'alive' for them. Now I am tearing up...
Kenzie - enjoy your day with them and what a wonderful thought - thanks for making me think about it.
Hugs
Sharon

Sharon what a beautiful wonderful loving idea of the stepping stones and a few bulbs of plants you love.
Kenzie, so glad you like the necklace. Hobby Lobby has some really nice boxes for guys to keep stuff in. I bought my son in law a wood box with crossed firemans axes across the top and liked it so well he keeps it on the coffee table in the living room.
Sending everyone a big healing hug.

Linda - your sisters are going to love and cherish these necklaces you can be sure! Guys are a little harder to shop for, so let us know what you figure out for him and how it goes with your sisters! lisa
