Hi girls, Janie glad you and your son are o.k., hope that speed head got a ticket. I am so dizzy today. I had a sinus headache yesterday and don't know if thats it because I have a bit of one still and its soooooo humid here you can hardly breath. The elderly can't even go outside. Its probably gotten into my inner ear, or if it's the treatment. It better clear up cause we leave for Chicago tomorrow morning. At work so better go. Hugs, and glad you are o.k. Janie. Mary

Hi Girls, Janie, yesterday the nurse started my I.V. and I noticed I wasn't sleepy and she did too, she said I was a little too talkative (and my chest was getting a little tight) but anyway she had forgotten to hook up the benadryl. She pushed it and I got tired real fast. My Dr. called today and my hip is great....I said good no cancer but why the pain? I have to see an ortho guy and I will be in Phoenix Tue. evening so I will talk to my son-in-law to be and see what can be done if anything. I will have to get some goodies for my family Doc. and her staff while out there. They are so on the ball. My onc has completely ignored my pain. Better go, lots to do so we can leave for Chicago tomorrow late morning. Later girls. Hugs, Mary

Janie, glad everyone's alright. But what a scare!

Mary, great news on the MRI! Hope they can figure out the next step and get you some relief quickly. What's up in Chicago? Just a pleasure trip? It's a great city. (Of course, I've only been twice, and a LONG time ago.)

Still no word from the surgeon. So, apparently they're in no great hurry. I guess that's good.

PJ Looks like it's hurry up and wait time again. I do hope your surgeon has some kind of good news. Mary, that is great about the hip. Isn't strange to wish for arthritis or a sprain or something -- beats the alternative. Have a ball in the toddlin' town. I have never been there. My kids have -- they have traveled lots more than me. I did dance the Charleston to "Chicago" in a musical back in my younger days. Does that count? Mary did you get dancing legs when she pushed the Benadryl? I always did when they did it fast. I take a pill now. Still get sleepy but I kind of enjoyed the rush as long as legs stayed still. Have a good weekend ladies.

Janie, just dance on up. We are going to see John Edwards/ Crossing over. It could be taped for T.V. and I hope not. Thats all I would need with my chemo hair. I died it tonight and it looks as if its kinda brown. May be different in the light. I had so many colors going on so it may look like a zebra. I was going to go to my hair guy but too lazy and figure I would rather be out a couple dollars if it don't take as 40 so It looks o.k. in the dim light. Last time I tried it didn't do a thing. Janie my legs have been a dancing around ever since I stopped chemo back in Oct. They never did jump until I stopped and they have been jumping ever since. My arms even jumped after she pushed it. I felt like I was possessed. Thank goodness everyone else was sleeping or they would of been scared of me. Janie my kids have traveled a lot more than me too. There was spring break and road trips with friends and ol mom just stayed at home and worked. I have only been to Chi. twice or 3 times. My hubby and I don't know our way around and my sister does but she isn't leaving until late. I guess I didn't learn my lesson after our trip to Memphis and my hubby kept going around in circls. I have a print out from map quest. I made my hubby some curtains for his shed/castle. He loves Jeff Gordan the racer and I got material and made him Jeffy curtains. I am so talented.....I cut the material and ironed the sticky tape on to make a hem and rod pocket and they look good. My dinning room lace insets are done the same way. I haven't figured out how to wash them so they don't fall apart yet. I can sew but I hate to. I will never have another sewing machine and I keep thinking about it but I have to fight the urge. Its too time consuming. I have to do the seams and everything perfect and I drive myself nuts!!!! The iron on sticky stuff works great for small jobs. Well tomorrow will be another "Quest" for our destination. I will read the map instructions and hubby will drive and make a wrong turn or miss a turn and we will drive for miles before we decide to stop and just admit we are lost. Maybe if they put beautiful girls pictures on the turning points on the map men could follow directions. For my hubby it would have to be tools, turn at the power saw and continue to the screwdriver, go a 2 inch nail past the exit and make a left onto the right side of the pliers. Yea, he could follow that, or the girls. Well I will let you know if I talk to anyone from the other side. Don't know what to expect but it should be interesting. Good night, Mary

Good Morning Mary or should I say Ms. Susie Homemaker. I can see it now: "I'm getting a message from someone -- he says someone in the audience works for a pennypincher, is married to Tim straight from home improvement, and dances a jig while tied to a tube every other week....

I just noticed something. He has the same name as the guy who ran for vice president last time. He obviously wasn't able to connect with Washington or Lincoln for advice on winning the race

You know what. My Mom loves Jeff Gordon too. She never watches car races and all of a sudden she has to check to see how Jeff's doing. I just don't get a thrill out of watching cars go round and round and round; however, I did watch Danica the first time she was in the big league. I watched her off and on and at the end saying "You go girl!"

Have a fun time with the spirits! Don't get lost. Maybe you can also go on Oprah and get a Pontiac or something. I was on a game show in 1971 -- The Sale of the Century - not a regular contestant but was chosen from the audience to compete against two others for one prize. I won! --- an Amana Radar Range and 12 cases of Old Dad's Root Beer. We had to guess the sale prize of the range (microwave) without going over. The other two went over.

    Everybody have a wonderful weekend!

    Warm Fuzzies,

, That was my face when I was half awake and come upon the cheery bright letters in Janies post this morn. Wow, you won!!!! thats pretty neat. I remember hearing on the game shows back when the Amana Radar Range. This is just the begining of my star studded career. Next, Howard Stern will want me on his show. Ya know, I never thought about "Tim The Toolman Taylor" but yea, that is my husband. My husband's problem is that he is hyperactive and he never finishes a job. It gets boring or he tries to do too much at one time, I don't know but it makes for some good argueing. He always says he will never fix anything again, I can call a carpenter and pay for it....How I would love to do just that!!!!!Then he does it anyway. He surprises me and what a surprise it is when I get the repair bill from the person who comes and actually does the job correctly. Would I marry him all over again????? Nahhhh....I would marry several men. Carpenter, Dr. Dentist, Mechanic, Car salesman, Lawyer, plastic surgeon and a clothing store owner, or maybe him. Well better go I want to get a recorder to take in with me. Just in case I get a reading I want to remember what was said. I would be so stunned I would just freeze up and not remember a thing. My sister however would be miss bubble over with excitement. Shes the pretty one of the family, ya know the type???? I look like bag lady and she looks classy. The 3rd. sister is well, she just is. Not a common sense brain cell in her head. What if someone from the other side brings up stuff I don't want anyone to know???? Like when I use to skip school? When I buy a gift and get it on sale? What about the holes in my underwear ??? Well Janie once again you cracked me up early in the morning. Its good to get a laugh to start my day. Thank you, Hugs girls, Mary

Janie, I'm impressed! What did you do with that radar range? And did you get sick of root beer after drinking all your winnings?

Mary, if you get on TV you HAVE to let us know when it's on. I'll try to send John Edwards a psychic message to pick you out of the audience...

PJ, That radar range lasted a long time. It tore up just before I moved to GA the second time which was 1993. I ditched it at that time. My son wanted me to keep it for sentimental reasons but it was too big and heavy just to take up space. I kind of wished I kept it now...something for the future grandkids to see and talk about what Gram won back in the olden days on national TV. It was just before VCRs became the rage so I do not have it taped for posterity. Before the taping, the director came out in the audience. He asked who was from out of town. When he came over and talked to me and my Tennessee accent came rollin' out of my Hillbilly mouth, I was chosen right then and there. Mid-way through the show, they called us up to look at and bid on the Radar Range. I had not watched the show that much. The real price was over $400.00. We had to choose their sale price which was always much lower. The director (whom the viewing audience could not see) was walking in this little pit-like thing behind us saying "Don't overbid or I will kick your butt." I was going to bid 13.95, but he intimidated me into bidding 9.95. The other two bid 30.95 and 24.95 and went over. The sale price was 16.95. Later I watched the show more often and realized that the sale price was almost always 4 dollars for every one hundred. The contestants never seemed to figure that out (including me).

Microwaves were new and I had said I would never have one (have had several). I was afraid of them. All that talk of microwaves cooking food from the inside out seemed scary at first. I read the directions and precautions. It said to be sure to pierce potatoes so they would not blow up. I baked a potato and poked a zillion holes in it.

My Ex announced to his entire family that they could come and take Root Beer anytime, and they did. So it did not last very long.

The show was aired two weeks after taping so everybody watched my fifteen minutes of fame. Many years later when the kids and I were at the NBC archives in NY, I tried to find that show, but it was not listed. NBC lost a lot of early tapes or taped over some shows. They lost a lot of the early Carson years which is a shame.

Mary, I hope you get on and we get to see you talk to your great great grandmother or poodle...or anybody, or should I say anyspirit.

PJ, How are you? Do you know anything new?

Hi Girls, I am at work and not much time. We had a great time. My sister and I didn't get a reading but the people that did had children that has passed. It was intense and everyone cried a few times. If he is fake he is really good. My sister and her man left Sat. night and hubby and I stayed and went to Navy Pier Sun. We drove down lakeshore drive and they had a bike race going on so traffic was bad. The Lakefront Rd. was blocked off all of a sudden, no warning and we pretty much toured Chicago after that. We took a 2 1/2 hour drive through. We saw parts of Chi. most people never see. Oh Yea, We took a boat tour and it was real nice. We finally got to 55 south and headed home. Gotta get ready to go to Phoenix tomorrow. I am just about ready. I asked Penny Pinch for my check a day early so I will have some extra cash and I pay my bills on my banks website so I put them all in a wk. ahead to be paid on the 4th. (or about) of the month. I have to have my check in a couple days before and since I am going to be gone and couldn't depend on her to put it in my bank. I don't think a day early is too much to ask. I left her a message on Fri. and she hasn't called me yet to say yes or no. In 10 years this is the 2nd. time I have asked for my check a day early. I would bet it won't happen.Any news P.J. I am still praying for you. Gotta go later. Mary

Mary, the trip to the Windy City sounds fun and Arizona sounds even better! It's a dry heat, I hear.... Have a blast. Going to be doing any jumping from a plane or anything?

Hope you all are well. See the surgeon tomorrow and find out what the "tumor board" comes up with as far as the next step. Should be a really lovely day....

Hi girls, No I wont be jumping outta any thing except bed and that can be dangerous any more. We are going on a hellicopter ride up in Sadona, thats my hubby's birthday pres. from soon to be son-in-law. Planes don't bother my claustrophobia but I have never been in a chopper. If you hear of an emergency landing on Fox News Allert because a woman paniced over the mountains that will be me. Its sounds GREAT but I hope I can do it. AHHHH, I went through chemo, I can do anything. Yea right..Gotta work tonight and tomorrow morn. until 12:30. P.J. I will hop on my daughters puter to see whats up tomorrow and I will be praying for ya. At 32,000 ft. I will be in his back yard so he will have to hear me. Hugs, Mary

    Hi guys,

Well, the surgeon recommends whacking it off. At this point, I guess I'm willing to go along with that if it means something nasty not popping up again. The onc apparently still isn't sure what he recommends, as he was supposed to tell me today but now says he'll call tomorrow. That leads me to believe he might be having second thoughts about the chemo. I hope that's what it means, at least. That he's doubting the PET scan findings. Anyway, more to report tomorrow.

Janie, Hope the school's still there for you. Be a drag to move over there just to have it blow away! Hope Mary's having fun, and I hear the weather's beautiful up Renee's way....

PJ, Bless your heart. You have been waiting for some kind of news for days now. I do hope you hear what you want to hear tomorrow. I do hate that you have to do surgery again. Keep us posted.

The school was still there. The internet server went out today. That was about the worst of it.

Tomorrow is #41 Herceptin. It has gone pretty fast. Wednesdays roll around quickly it seems.

Janie--Since I skipped that Herceptin on the 15th--Now we are exactly on the same track. I had H#41 yesterday. Now we only have 11 weeks to go. I've been taking the little round bandaids that they put on my port after needle removal off and putting them on the dash of my jeep above the radio. I was counting up using them to keep track of the number of times I drove myself up for infusions. Now I've been putting them over and on top of each other to show how many I have left to go. It's looking better and better all the time. I know it's a weird thing to do, but I guess I've never pretended not to be one or two notches off center!! I spent most of today trying to keep any sort of food on my stomach. So far I haven't been too successful, but I'm hanging in there. I went to work this afternoon just so I could rock babies and forget about my cares. It worked!! I'm in a really great mood so that must mean my blood levels are crappy because I always feel great before the crash. OH WELL--School is back in session so we have the "Big Kids" only in the early morning and after school. We just have our sweet babies and toddlers during the main part of the day. I like that the best of all. Thank God for school!! The only part I miss about not being a teacher anymore is that beginning of the year teacher breakfast where I'd pig out on freshly baked sweet rolls. Ahhhh--enough of that. Hope #41 goes well for you. My infusions always go well--it's just afterwards....... PJ, I second the sentiment that you hear the words you want from your onc. tomorrow. Personally, this month can get over and done with as far as I'm concerned. I'm ready for September. Life is Good--Smiles--NancyLee

Nancy, I'm the one who got the big kids! Actually, I usually only see them one at a time, so it's not a problem.

Mary, a helicopter flew over my car on the way home from work. Was that you? You would have been way off course, but I waved just in case Tim TTM was piloting. I love hot tubs, but I think I read that we lymphedemians are not to supposed to use them. I guess I could hold my arm out of it. There must be a way.

Paula, you must be on constant pins and needles. I hope you hear something soon and get your regimen straightened out once and for all.

    Hugs all around,

Well, onc says chemo regardless of what a PET rescan on Sept. 15 shows. So, mammo next week on the OTHER breast, pre-surgery junk also next week. 2nd PET scan (which hopefully will be clear, meaning the junk on the other one was from my previous surgery NOT metastic cancer) the following week and then, a few days later, whack.... Then, 3 weeks to recover and chemo. 6 treatments of Taxotere and Xeloda, with the Xeloda to continue AFTER I finish the Taxotere for some undetermined period. YUK!

This is NOT where I thought I'd be when my original surgeon told me this was likely just a local recurrence and easily treated by getting wider margins and maybe some radiation....

Mary, hope the trip's great. Janie and Renee, enjoy the long weekend.

Hi Girls, P.J. I feel so sorry for you. Go ahead and scream. We will be here to listen.. I hope the treatments aren't too hard on you. Rene, A hot tub would be nice and my hubby made a comment about getting one at home. Do not give him any ideas as it would have to be installed by a trained professional.....I blew it off with "yea then you would have the upkeep on it and the pool so I think he has forgotten about it, I hope so anyway. We are having a great time and it's home tomorrow at 6 p.m. I was very scared of the whirley bird ride when we were getting on the copter as I have a fear of heights. I was chosen to sit up front and being nervous I read a note that said do not touch the peddles or instruments and I thought, oh boy I will be grabbing anything to help steer or go up or what ever I need to do to help drive. I just new it would be a mistake but I had to sit up front. I got in and realized the floor is plastic, see through.... Oh crap that will make a veiw of how far up we are even clearer. I put my headphones on and adjusted my mic in case I need to scream "land this bad boy." We went up and flew a few yards to the edge of the mesa the airport was on and we went over the cliff and I was in love with the copter!!!! It was great and beautiful!!!We weaved between mountains and gulleys and I didn't want to stop....I will go on one when and if I get to Hawaii. and maybe a ride over the Grand Canyon next time. NO!!! My hubby is not building a helicoptr!!! He wanted to build an ultra glider once. Oh Crap!!!! I am glad he forgot about that one. Can you girls imagine what a mess that would of been???
