I want to scream!@!
1st BC in diagnosed in March, 2007. DCIS grade 3 ER+, PR-; had a lumpectomy and radiation. Re-occurance diagnosed in February 2009. Again, DCIS, grade 3, but this time ER-PR-, went with mastectomy. I was diagnosed with lymphodema in August 2009. I had to have a resection in September 2009 because of mastectomy "deformities - my breast surgeon left pleats in my skin. I've been working with a physical therapist for the lymphodema and thought I was getting on top of things. I've learned to adapt and am almost back to "normal."
I went for my annual mammogram on my remaining breast last week. I got a call yesterday that I have to go back for more pics on Monday - does it never freaking end??????
I'm so very tired of all this - I don't feel grateful that I'm early stage - I just want to have a year without BC.
To make things worse, my little sister was diagnosed on New Year's Eve this year and had a double mast last Monday. My mother has cancer in her cheek and will undergo surgery in a couple of weeks. My uncle was just declared "cured" from stomach cancer after surgery a month ago. I am living in a cancer cluster and don't seem able to escape.

Cydney - Unbelievable! I don't blame you for wanting to scream. I say go ahead & scream. I am so sorry for all you and your loved ones are going through. It certainly seems that sometimes you just don't get a break, but I will be thinking of you and hoping a BIG break comes your way very soon.

Cydney, I agree; go ahead and scream! you are getting the short end of the stick in life right now! It would be more than enough for you to have to deal with just what you yourself are going through, but to have your sister, mother and uncle thrown into the mix is quite a heft cross to bear. I know being sorry doesn't really help you in your situation, but I truly do sympathize. (((Hugs))) sweetie...

Go ahead and scream!!! YOu the right to!! In the meantime I will pray that this all gets better for you!!

Thank you all!!!!! I knew that this was the right place to come and you all would understand my anger, fear and frustration. I know that I'll keep on keeping on - but it's so necessary to have a place to come where I can say EXACTLY what I'm feeling.
THANK YOU!!

I could not agree more--I am not dealing with a recurrance--but, my twin sister was diagnosed with a rare ampullary cancer six months into my tx--and now has mets. I pray daily that she will make it--when it rains -it pours. Best to you all, heather

Heather, you and your sister are both in my prayers.
Thank you all for your support and prayers - they came true for me. I was busy lopping off my remaining breast, signing up for a hysterectomy and purchasing my plot. I went today for follow up mamograms and sonogram. I am on the 6 month watch list. The sun came out again. The birds were singing again. I went out and bought a chocolate decadance desert, ate it and then followed up with my anti-oxident herb tea.
Amazing how powerful a grip this dis-ease has on me. I didn't realize until this near-miss episode. I am going to put into practice my vows to do the things I really want to do. To let those in my life I love, know I love them. Avoid toxic people, places and things. In short, I am going to value today and work to have a valuable tomorrow. I am going to really try and live my best life.
I thank you all. Your kindness and support of sister-strangers is golden. You are my backbone in the dark days.
BTW - Sue, how come your screen name is Sydney - it's so rare to find others.

I too am in a cancer cluster. My bro was just diagnosed with stage III lymphoma and leukemia (bone marrow too).. and my sis has to have a tennis ball sized tumor removed from her liver this week.. my other bro has already been treated for leukemia.. it's scary.
good luck to you.

Sorry I haven't responded Cydney. Spent the last week going to doctors and doing the taxes! My dad wanted to name one of his daughters Sydney and my mom did not - there are 3 of us. Personally I like the name for a girl and named an adorable dog I had Sydney. She was the best dog I've ever had the pleasure of knowing.
