No crafts here due to the fact that I am now a grandma.  Emergency C section on Thursday at 4 am.  Olivia arrived at 32 weeks gestation, 3 and a half pounds, doing very well, DIL moved out of ICU today to regular maternity room.  The baby shower was to be tomorrow, but has obviously been postponed.    I saw my teensy tiny first grand baby yesterday and WOW, what an emotional trip.

After the snow storm is over, I will be out buying "things" for the baby - my new "hobby"....

    Hugs for all,  Nancy

I know some of you are crafting so where are you?

My favorite craft is turning "trash into treasure."

I did NOT make this but I would like to!

My sister told me this morning at church that she knows 2 women who would love the portapockets purse insert I made. here is the link to the pattern I found at the local sewing machine shop http://www.studiokatdesigns.com/portapockets.htm I have made one for myself and I simply LOVE IT. it makes finding things in my pocket book easy. The other week when I was traveling with my parents, I was driving and wanted my chapstick. I told mom which pocket to look in and she found it right away without digging through everything.

I am planning on making some for the church bazaar.

The lamp is something really special, just love it.  I haven't been doing much crafting lately.  I did make a friend earring and a necklace but forgot to take a picture.  Here is a reggae hat and scarf my grandson wanted.  Happy crafting.

Hey hey fellow crafters.  How is everyone doing?  I see you've all been busy being creative.  Life is busy here but I wanted to drop by and show you my very first pair of knitted socks that I finally finished.

They are adorable socks, I wish I could knit. When I was in Ohio the other week, my aunt was knitting mittens (using 4 - double pointed needles) for the shelter she volunteers at in Dayton. She said that she didn't get as many pairs done last year due to her husband's failing health but planned on getting more done this year. My sister-in-law said that she would teach me to knit if I taught her how to crochet.

Wow!  I've had the best time looking at the creations posted here!  You are all so talented!  I bake and decorate cookies and it is such a stress buster for me.  If I can figure out how to post a picture here I will.  Here is a link to all my picture (I also make handmade tags):

Okay ... you are just too talented, too creative and too wonderful.  I looked through your pictures .  They were so adorable and looked delicious but I think eating one would be like eating the portrait of Mona Lisa... they truly are little works of art.

Hello all my crafty buddies!.....I have missed you all so much!.......It has been way too long......I have been pretty busy with crafts....I have crocheted another pair of booties, started a new afghan and a new doily for my sister to match the one she already has and have started a hand-tied blanket with the pink ribbons all over it........I will try to get some pics posted sometime int he future when I finish my afghan.....It is rose and white (my favorite colors for this afghan)........I had made one a few years ago but it disappeared from my home.....Very odd since that is the only thing that disappeared.......I am thinking in my foggy days I must have left it somewhere...........*SIGH*.....Oh well at least I am not foggy headed now...LOL.....Love you all and miss you terribly!.......

I second Lucy - Sahalie and Arnie - where are you and when are you coming back?  I miss you terribly!  I haven't been crafting because most of the stuff  I like working with involves noxious fumes but I really can't wait until spring and 70+ degrees.

    Love to all.

I too have missed Arnies crafts and Sahalie always has good ideas.  Its spring, come back girls.  I am still making hats, my 19 year old grandson came to visit and picked out all the yarn  he wanted hats of so I have been busy.

Hollyann, thank you so much for the card, I appreciate you so much and the fact that you don't forget about me.  I do so want to see a picture of the hand tied blanket.  Love you much.

sukiann, I would gladly send you money for some of those cookies also to share with daughter and grandkids.  they are just so special.  You could start your own business.

Hollyann, actually you have 2 hats I have done for you, it is just getting them in the mail.  I need to get some of those big envelopes.  I have to get my dh to get stuff unless he pushes me around the store in the wheel chair.  I can use the walker in the house for short walks but any longer I have to use the wheel chair.   I have a lot of patterns for scarves that are knitted.  I love ya girl.

Thanks Ladies!  I do have a little business but I can't really do much because of the legal issues with a certified kitchen.  My town won't let me bake out of my home so I have to find a place that I can rent.  It's really expensive to do that so I just make them for friends and an occasional "customer".  If I put stickers on the cookies when they get passed out at parties I'll get phone calls and I don't want to end up in jail for baking cookies illegally out of my house.  Headlines in the local newspaper will read "Breast Cancer Survivor and Mother of Two Arrested For Baking Cookies Out of Home".  Really, with what has happened to me over the years I believe this could happen to me! hahahaha!!!  If we all meet someday I promise I'll make ya some cookies!  :)

Crafting is the best.  I wish I could knit or crochet.  Spar is that what you do to make the hats?  I have to go back in this tread and look at all the creations.  I'm too lazy right now to do that!

I know Lucy, I feel really bad I didn't get them out while it was freezing but you'll have hats for next winter. LOL

Sukiann, I won't tell either.  I have had sticky buns mailed to me by a wonderful friend from Nevada and boy were they good.  You wouldn't be selling them, it would be a donation.  LOL

Spar don't feel bad....How were we supposed to know our house would flood and we would have a bunch of fans dehumidifying the house and heating it to almost 80???.....lol......Good thing is it's covered by insurance......Now the fun part starts with renovations all through the house!......Fun fun fun!.......

Lucy -- the fun just never stops, does it!  If this is a test, flunk me and let me move on!  Its amazing how a simple necessity to maintain life can do so much damage, not to mention mess.

Sukiann -- what law says you can't make and sell cookies?  The Girl Scouts do it, that's why "cake sales" are so popular, kids sell them at yard sales.  I'll bet your kitchen is a heck of lot cleaner than  any old commercial kitchen!

Spar, girlfriend ... I have the same problem - we're just a mess.  I use the walker upstairs in the house because I'll be damned if I am going to carry wheelchair (can we all say cracked skull!).  If I do shop, my sister dropsme in front of the store and goes to park.  I get one of those motorized wheelchairs they have in most stores.  Otherwise, a shopping trip involving walking would last exactly 5 minutes.

Have a great day, my crafty friends!

Thanks Spar. all of the eggs are made out of 1930's reproduction fabrics. I started paper-piecing the eggs February 2007, got my dx of breast cancer March 2007 and worked on the hand quilting while sitting in the plastic surgeons office that summer and fall. I actually finished the quilting August 2008 and my son came home from the Navy in September. I had to move my sewing things out of his room and 'miss-placed' the patchwork binding I had cut. I finally recut the binding after looking for it for over a year and finished it last December. I am just now hanging it up in my office in time for Easter. When I started it I said that I would finish it in time for Easter, but I never said what year!
