Question for those of you who have experienced night sweats
Comments
-
I never thought of night sweats until my recent diagnosis, but picture this: I got my Sharpie marks for radiation treatment last Wednesday. My rads start today. I have been puzzled as to why the Sharpie marks have almost completely faded, until I figured it out last night. I woke up around 1am, sweating --- but sweating only in the cleavage area! Does that qualify as a night sweat? And do you think that is normal? I am such a sound, heavy sleeper that I have never noticed anything like this until now. I sleepily acknowledged that this must be what "washed" away my Sharpie marks, but now I am wondering if this is actually a night sweat.
Thanks in advance for your answers, ladies.

YES!!! That's exactly where I sweat during my night sweats. All around my breasts and and then in my upper inner thights. Sorry you are having them, but they sound just like mine.
Best of luck with your rads.

Well, it was at night and you sweated.....swated....swote?
You would sweat all day in your cleavage area and your bra would rub on the Sharpie marked areas so that could be part of it.
As for "is that a night sweat"? well, when I had my night sweats I would have to change my nightie and put a towel down on my sheets and pillow as they were so wet! I'd also rot the pillow away...
-
Barbe is right. I also would sleep on a towel, keep a face clothes close by, and change my jammies! Yuck!
-
Who changes jammies, I just strip them off
, or don't even wear any
, but I do keep the shirt close by for emergencies.
-
In defence, the jammies do soak up a lot of sweat!
-
I wear jammies, just barely!! SInce I have 14 and 11 year old boys, I tend to wear them. DOn't want to scare the shit out of them first thing in the morning!

Until about 18 months ago I was by myself all week long and hubby only home on weekends. My son returned from the Navy 18 months ago. He keeps his bedroom door closed but I do make sure that I have a t-shirt and shorts/yoga pants or my bath robe on when I leave my bedroom.

I don't blame you Sheila. My 11 year old wills till come into my bedroom in the middle of the night if he needs me. My 14 year old would never, he's much to mature for that! LOL!!
-
my mom got me a special nightgown designed for menopause. It's supposed to wick away the sweat from your body; it's made by LL Bean.

Sports jerseys do the same thing. And mattresses now adays in the higher brands have that for their covering. Guess all the boomers are becoming zoomers!
-
When I have night sweats I wake up in a pool of sweat. I don't know if I'd consider some sweating in my cleavage area a night sweat, but I'll pay attention to where exactly the sweat is coming from .... just give me a few more hours for the experiment!
