Found Lump
I found this lump in my stomach under my rib. It slides all over the place and is not attached to anything-it almost feels like a fatty ccyst. I believe I had it when I got my scans... Anyone ever have one of there? Can mets present as a lumppy area.

Pure,
I'm sure it's nothing, but get it checked to ease your mind. I've found little lumps like that on my thigh, smaller ones on my mastectomy scar, and one on my neck, and every time it ended up being nothing, but it feels good to get it checked out. It does sound like just a litte cyst. Keep us posted.

i think they are called lipomas.
i've had several.. that fact that it slides, is rubberyish should assure you. My husband finds mine occasionally and freaks out.. and then I remind him. the doctors are positive they are lipomas. they don't show up on scans.

Jen - try and relax about it. I know it is scary finding lumps after finding a real one. (the last one I found was a pimple, my husband thought it very amusing!) I feel myself a lot too, and usually what freaks me out is my ribs.
I would point it out to someone next time you have an appointment, just to easy your mind. But it doesn't sound as though it is anything to be worried about.

Jen, finding a lump after all you' ve gone thru has got to be frightening. I tend to go along with what apple and kerry have told you. Hopefully it's nothing to worry about.

yeah that reminds me..

Apple-Thanks I think that is what it is-My husband has 2 of these and it's almost exactly the same. Do mets presents as lumps? My doctor told me to look for pain.

I can't imagine how nervous you must be and I'm sure you'll be fine, but check with the doctor so that he can look at it and ease your mind. My closest girlfriend had something similar on her hip years ago and was extremely worried, as cancer seems to run in family. It turned out to be a fatty tumor on her boney little hip.

Hi Pure,
I've had lipomas over the years and that is EXACTLY what they sound like. They are basically fatty tissue under the skin. I've had them removed and they look just like chicken fat---ewwwwww----sorry if that's TMI. But just to put your mind at ease you should definitely get it checked out.
Take care,
Sharon

Pure, I too, have lipomas just below my ribs...but mine HURT when I press on them! Just had to be different didn't I? I had found mine before my cancer, now they seem to have disappeared (for now).

Thanks everyone-thats what I really think it is... Its quite strange how you can push it all over the place. I think my pregnancy brought it on.

pure,
My younger dauhgter ( 15 years) found a lump under her arm, right in the arm pit. You can imagine that I had close heart attack. I went right with her to the hospital, ultra sound, examination by a general surgeon at the childrens hospital, another ultra sound.Well, its lipoma, very common. Its fat. I told that my assistant at work how afraid I was, then she suddenly showed me this huge lump on the back of her neck. Lipoma. Fat.
So many people have that.
