Did you have rads?  It's very common for rad damage to cause rib pain, usually starting a year or so after treatment is over.  If it hurts when you press on it, it could be costocondritis (sp) and inflammation of the cartilage connect the ribs to the breast bone, also caused by rad damage.  I think met pain is more constant.

Thanks for that reassuring answer. I also have had rib soreness for several months but just when I press on it. It is on the side where I had radiation (finished about 15 months ago.) The radiation oncologist did not think it was anything to worry about, but of course I still do...

Costal condritis is a very common condition for women. I had it both before and after bc. My stupid PC sent me for all kinds of tests, costing a fortune, and exposing me to who knows what. I think all those tests, contributed to my bc. Then I finally found a chiro, whose PT did a few sessions of deep tissue massage and ultrasound and it disappeared, never to return. Get thee to a chiro.

I'm also having rib pain.  It's on the same side as my radiation (finished last September), but a little below my tattoo (I think it's the last or 2nd last rib).  It's also been getting progressively more sore - just a light touch hurts now.  I hate that that breast cancer has made me so paranoid.

I had this EXACT feeling for about a year after my mastectomy. They sent me for every test they could & what it came down to is that something from my mastectomy surg. was pulling. It eventually went away but it was more then a year. Maybe it has something to do based on whatever type of surgery you had.
