just wondering....

Jmb, I'm with you. I wanted to skip rads when this began, but everything I read suggested strongly that rads drops recurrence. So when I get path results in I'll do what I'm told. I think it's a 99% chance I'll be told to do radiation. I'm down with that now.

Mom3and1g, I'm really glad you're feeling better. I don't know if it's okay to say this, but I was really frightened when I thought you might be considering refusing treatment.

Suembala,
If you find an integrated medicine doc, please send me his/her name. I am researching and will do the same with you. I corresponded with a former head of integrated medicine from Medical City, and he sent me a link to check out regarding these types of docs in the DFW area.
I am taking the course of radiation next, and would ideally like to get a nutrionist involved at a certain point, as I feel like I can do some things better. Though, I have to say that I've always been a "health-conscious" person, so exercise and good eating are not surefire ways to not get cancer..... as evidenced by my diagnosis. That's what felt like such a slap in the face with all of this!
And, yes, I think a stay in Aruba is almost a necessity at this point!!!! We'll have to look into a group discount for cancer patients. I used my cancer status last week in Houston at a hotel. I got a Susan G. Komen room (all pink, with pink yoga video and mat) at a discounted rate because I am a cancer patient. Hey, I will take any perk I can get at this point......

dsj,
absolutely Ok with me....and thanks. Again, I think I just needed to feel some power even if it was unrealistic. The emotional aspect as been unreal. We went to church today and I actually had tears in church. I know you all don't know me outside of this forum but I am intensely private. I was mortified but I just couldn't help it. Don't think anyone say (thank goodness)! I guess it's better to come out than stay in. Oh the roller coaster ride. I do feel so much better and not so down. Yea!
Thanks,
kathy

Kathy, Glad to hear that you're finding a little peace from this emotional storm!
Maryann, I had my lumpectomy Wed. and will be looking at radiation next also. There is an onc doc at the Sammons Cancer center that trained with Dr. Weil so she has oncology and an understanding of natural treatments as well. A rare combination I think and to me it indicates that she at least will entertain the possibility of complimentary treatments. If you'd like further info you can PM me if you'd like. I would so much appreciate any info you have! Two heads are definitely better than one. Well, if you can count me as one head these days! More like half a brain. I loved the cancer patient discount story! Hey, at least we haven't lost our sense of humor.
Peace and healing to you all,
Susan
