Laura, I'm glad things are looking better today. We all have those valleys...just some are harder to climb out of than others. I think worrying about our health after bc is one of the deepest.
Well, back to the salt mines today. I stopped by my office yesterday on my way to my PS's. Planned to stay an hour or so, ended up staying three and a half. Well, I should get an half day credit for that, lol. Went through hundreds of emails, lost count at 500. Mostly trying to sell me Viagra (jeepers, does anyone know of a man named :"Nancy"? You'd think they be a little more discriminating). So I can start in today just doing regular work...not too much catch-up. My boss is out until Friday, which makes the office have a vacation feel.
-
Love you Laura!! xo
-
Special intentions for you, Laura. We appreciate you being so upbeat all the time, but t's okay to let go and vent now and then...does a body good, and we can say special prayers for you.
Congrats on your recovery and getting back to work Nancy.

Just peeking in again with another prompt for birthday cards to Saint. There's still time. LOL.
Several of you have already put cards in the mail & that's awesome.
I spoke with her earlier this morning & she's having a rough go: physically & emotionally. The card shower is perfect timing for her to 'see' how much she is cared for.
She is in a great deal of pain.
Several cards are even coming internationally, so I think there's some momentum.
If you're able to pop off a card, please PM me & I'll share her address.
xx00xx00xx00xx
Thanks in advance for the cards.
Thanks also for your continued prayers on her behalf.
**Just also wanted you to know that I am now reading each of your posts and sending each of you my non-Catholic prayers as I read along. (tee-hee)

Good day, dear friends in Jesus,
I have been trying to make it to Mass each day during this Lenten Season and having pretty good results attending. I gave up pretzels and cake and cookies. The pretzels are a real sacrifice, as I starting eating those in place of cigarettes when I quit 11 months ago. But I am doing it.
mmm5..I am praying for your hubby to find a new job. Hopefully something will come up soon
Pure, I teach CCD to 2nd graders this year. We are preparing them for their first Communion. So sweet and angleic they are at this age.
Nancy, hope youare doing well at work and enjoying being back
To all, I pray for you, my bc sisters, every day.

Hi everyone, I just want to say hi. I havent been on for a while. Actually I was in the hospital on Sunday and Monday for a rash that developed and low white blood count. To make long story short, I'm on antibiotics and had a dose of Neupogen, so I am on the mend so to speak. But what really upset me is that I couldn't go to Mass on Tuesday, so now I have to wait until next week. I miss going to church.
You are all in my prayers. Thanks for being here.
-
So sorry to hear of your recent hospitalization. Feel better soon. We are rooting for you!! xo

Hi Tarry...hope you feel better soon...
Good luck back working Nancy....back emails.....uugghh!!
Prayers to St. Peregrine, and St. Agatha for each of you and to St. Cajetan!

God Bless all my sisters, their familes, and their intentions, AMEN!

Happy Friday everyone!
LMFSM: Whew!...so happy it was nothing. Yes the when the dreaded fear comes in, that's when Faith overcomes!
Jan: Happy to hear you got your exchange date.
Tarry1: Sorry to hear your counts were down. I hate and feel so guilty when I miss mass but your health is priority. Hope you're feeling better soon.
I was down last weekend myself (extreme fatigue, nothing more) but I'm better. Had TX#2 on Wed. The 2 hour drive home was uh fun. Dr. couldn't see me but Nurse PA was very nice. She did feel my lump or lumps but I'm just blessed to be in trial and hopefully will get the PARP drug. So far no SE's Amen!! If all is well I'm meeting with my Jr. High St. Benedicts Class of 1981 tomorrow. Isn't FB neat?
Praying for all my beautiful sisters, families and friends.
Continuing the intecessory prayers St. Peregrine for all suffering. In Jesus name Amen.

I am a funeral musician. I have developed a detachment that allows me to provide my service without getting too emotionally involved.
Still, seeing the grief of the living is a somber reminder of life's precious shortness. The sermons of the various priests range from the 'detached' to the heartfelt sympathy of the emotive. Yesterday we had a detached priest who simply quoted a text message and just about left it at that. I felt sorry for the congregation who yearned for comfort and a celebration of Ella's life.
prayers for all my sisters in Christ.

Keeping all of your special intentions in my prayers. DH had shoulder surgery yesterday and is recuperating at home and doing okay. Hope to make it to mass tomorrow.
St. Peregrine, thank you for your intercessory prayers on behalf of all cancer patients. In Jesus name I pray.
God bless.

Apple,
I have 2 friends who are priests, and I told one of them years ago that even though they may get frustrated at baptisms, weddings and funerals because often times the people come to church ONLY at that time and you never see them again...that it is such a great opportunity to bring Catholics home. (You can often hear people fumbling, kneelers being banged down, people rising and sitting at all the wrong times...
) And the fact of the matter is, many people at these liturgies are from other parishes, so even if he didn't see them again, he may never know how his words effected someone in the congregation to go back to Church. He is an excellent homilist, works hard at it...but he personally needs to be supported and encouraged because there isn't often much feedback or as mentioned they just don't know what their words can do....
Being a good homilist is a gift, a talent, and a lot of work!! Fortunately it can be developed if one desires to...I so wish all priests would recognize the impact a good homily can have on bringing the peace, joy and comfort of being loved by God that is so desperately needed, particularly at funerals, baptisms and weddings! Sighhhh....
Prayers for you and DB!
Janathan, hope DH heals well, praying for mmm5 DH for meaningful work...and for all our bodies, hearts and souls...
Participated in the Witness for Life yesterday in front of the abortion center in Greenwich Village. We had over 100 participants with us!! So many young people, too! They are our hope!!
God Bless!

Hi ladies, long time. Have been too busy working. Nancy congrats on getting back to work. It is/was an adjustent for me! I just am different after my PBM/recon-SOoo much more at peace. SOooo glad to know I'm not the only one who gets Cialis and Viagra e-mails...sheesh!
Laura YES, you are always SO UPBEAT! THANK YOU.
Jeanine, always in my prayers...YOU too are such inspiration!
Apple, so sorry about your bro...Uggg! Funeral music-didn't realize one of my fav Mozart CD's I bought at Notre Dame in Paris was funeral music? Does that make me morbid? Hope not -the music is lovely.
To all those who have lost jobs or whose spouses are looking......another patron saint of the worker is St. Joseph......Isn't he the patron saint of SOoooo many things? When I was intervewing for a very coveted position at work a nun gave me a St.Joseph prayercard and told me to pray for his intercession....we both did, I got the job....10 yrs ago....then also the whole St Joseph thing about burying him for a fast sale of your home. I was too cheap to go out and buy one of those cheesy kits so did some research and just took him from my nativity scene a couple years ago.....OF COURSE, I had done ALL the things my second realtor on the job told me(after I fired the first one). I painted decluttered-OH my that home was minimalist! Then the day the painters finished I was planting flowers in my favorite flowerbed near the front door. Joseph went into a ziplock and was buried upside down w/ thos flowers, I said a quick prayer w/ my supposedly atheist housecleaning lady who was making all immaculate...BUT I truly FELT like maybe that day would be it. I went to work, had 2 showings, one was planned, the other just happened....the next day was my birthday and I had 2 competing offers on that home. That St Joseph has since been involved in 2 other home sales and now he sits on a shelf at my Catholic bar. Unfortunately he was beheaded by a wagging dog tail and has lost a hand in the same accident but he's been glued back together and I'm keeping him!.....The Catholic bar is a whole nother story....I have lots of Catholic artwork and paraphanalia so decided to decorate the bar w/ it at my current home 2.5 yrs ago...most of it truly is art, there are only a couple items that border on sacriligious(flashing light last supper plaque and Jesus hook-both gifts!) but everyone who comes over, esp Catholic friends LOVE it ! Of course I have the St. Joseph prayercard in a floating frame w/ some other items. Funniest thing I don't keep alcohol there but I love sitting in the den/eating area and staring at it-everyone needs a place in their home-or heck! the whole HOME where they feel comfort.
Ok, sorry to drone on. You're all in my thoughts prayers w/ your families,
xoxo,jjane
-
Jane, I love the St.Joseph story. I've only recently heard about burying his statue in the front yard to inspire a house sale. In this economy/real estate market, I bet those kits are selling like hotcakes! In truth, it's presentation and pricing that will get you the quickest sale, if that's your goal.
Actually, I will be looking to buy a place for myself in the next few months. Who's the patron saint for house purchasers (LOL)?
-
thank you for the St. Joseph reminder. We live less than a couple blocks from our church and I'm so hoping a Catholic family will buy our home.
prayers for all my sisters. We had a lovely Mass this morning with a fantastic sermon.

Apple, I'm praying that your nodes are dealing with some minor infection, or that what you are feeling is scar tissue that has formed in the area after the cancer was removed and not nodes at all.
