Meece ~ Thanks so much for the awesome picture for my hymn. It also reminded me of the song "He's got the whole world in his hands...".
"It is well with my soul" ... what a profound place to be after such tragedy!
Thank you for such beautiful pictures and moving hymns!

Wow, that is so peaceful looking!
Grace...did you send the link to the article? You have me so curious now!

That is a wonderful and inspiring hymn. I was at a funeral last month and a bagpipe player stood on a bluff playing it. It is moving song every time I hear it.
-
And Grace will lead us Home....amen.

Just found this thread and it's beautiful! I love the gardens, nature, flowers, and hymns! I haven't learned to post pictures (yet!), but really enjoy those here! WOW! My son does photography, so I need to show him some of these spectacular ones! Our God is an Awesome God, who does ALL things well! He created beauty far surpassing anything man can dream up!

Here's a collage of my daisy-adventures last summer.
I'm working on a new project with some of these same shots. I am so excited to get it accomplished and share it here with you. This will be the perfect 'garden' for it's unveiling..... but I have to learn several more steps in the technology process before that day. In the mean time enjoy these simple sweet hearts.

Hope you don't mind me popping in. I just wanted to share Wintley Phipp's history of "Negro Spirituals." He is going to sing "Amazing Grace." His voice is absolutely beautiful. If you watched right after the inauguration of the President, Wintley sang at the at the National Prayer Breakfast. The history is amazing as told by Whintely. You will not regret watching this beautiful song sung by this wonderful singer who interrupts it like he "hears" it back in the slave days. You WILL get chills after hearing him sing.

Edited to add..give yourself a huge blessing and listen to him sing it at the prayer breakfast. It brings tears to my eyes.

shirley...
I thought you said National Prayer BASKET!!! I must need to take a break...

I just found this thread - what beautiful photos and I love to read the hymns and sing the ones I know. I have been in my church choir for 30 years and because of my treatments have had to take this year off (too fatigued for practice). Reading all of your posts and looking at the photos is helping me accept that a little better. The two youtube performances of Amazing Grace were awesome. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you all for this wonderful thread. I have just looked through all of the posts for the first time and I am spiritually uplifted and I can't tell you how much I needed that today. It is "one of those days" and I am distracted and there is so much chatter in my head, I needed to read some hymns and take a deep breath! God is good and I need to still my soul and know that He is holding me up!!
I love the beautiful pictures and the peacefulness they inspire.
Thank you all, I will visit here more often.

Well, no word directly yet. I have heard that there were water lines broken due to the earthquake, but no reports of major damage although surges in the sea could continue. Thank you ladies for your prayers. I get teary eyed every once in awhile, but I know that it is in God's hands. Speaking of which....
As some of you may know, I connected with Grace and her church through this website. I asked DS to go and give her a hug for me, and he did. And since then, he has been attending church on a regular basis (Hasn't missed a Sunday since.) Last night he called me to update me on his medical issues and he let me know that he has given his life to God, and is talking with Grace's husband about baptism. I am so happy!!!
Proverbs 22:6 Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.
He may have strayed, but he is back . A public thank you to Grace & Hubby, for your presence in Matt's life. (Hope you had a nice getaway).

Strong quake hits Japan's Okinawa, no major damage

TOKYO
Fri Feb 26, 2010 5:14pm ESTTOKYO (Reuters) - A strong earthquake hit Japan's southern island of Okinawa early on Saturday and Japan's weather agency issued a tsunami warning for up to 2 meters, but this was later lifted and there were no reports of major damage.World | Japan | Natural Disasters
The U.S. Geological Survey said the 7.3 magnitude quake struck at 5:31 a.m. on Saturday (2031 GMT on Friday) 52 miles east of the island's capital of Naha, a city of about 320,000 about 1,600 km (1,000 miles) south of Tokyo.
The Japan Meteorological Agency, which put the magnitude at 6.9, warned residents near the coast to evacuate to high ground, but the tsunami warning was later lifted.
Meece...This is the latest I found but Im sure you already know it.
-
Meece-You just gave me God-bumps (instead of goose-bumps). I was here when you were 1st talking with Grace-how powerful connections can be, even those connections made through cyber-space!
-
Yes, Seyla, I have been haunting the internet this afternoon. I know that the area my DS works in about sea level and couldn't be more than 1/2 mile inland. I am comforted by the reports of no major damages or casualties.
Again, Thank you all for praying with me. "For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them." Matthew 18:20
-
You're right Joni!! God-bumps it is. God is AWESOME!!!! ... still praying!!
