A naturopath is a doctor who believes in the body's innate ability to heal itself. They tend to treat you as a whole person as opposed to a symptom or a specific disease. A good site to look for information is http://www.naturopathic.org.  They explain in detail what naturopathic medicine is and there is a link for how to find a doctor.

    Good luck!

Good advice from DGH.  I'd also suggest Googling "naturopath" along with the name of your town/city, to find local resources.  Ask local friends/acquaintances/etc. if they have any naturopath recommendations.

Lots of cancer centers now incorporate naturopathic doctors in "integrative medicine" centers. Mine helped me deal very well with all my chemo & rads side effects, and still helps me out with stuff a year 1/2 later. They actually spend time and listen to you, quite a new concept in medicine. Good luck finding one in your area!

Hi, I'm new to this site. I consulted with Dr. Lise Alschuler, who is a Naturopathic Oncologist. She works through an office in Arizona, but lives in New Hampshire. She wrote the book "Difinitive guide to cancer" and worked for years at the Cancer Institute of America. She does phone consultations, using your pathology reports. Look her up on the internet, she has a website. I got her name from a mother & daughter that live by me that both have had breast cancer, they used her and loved her. I am following her advise as well. I'm still in the early stages of going throughh this though, I just had a double mastectomy on 3/31/10.
