    We had a bit of a snowstorm last night so only a few people showed up at the Gilda's Club meeting that I was attending at last night but I explained my challenge and several people seemed interested.

    One gentleman, who I have met before (he actually came to my first teamsurvivor meeting) came because I asked him to show his support for me. He is a cancer survivor and has been having a really tough time as of late - he told me when he left that this challenge is just what he needed!

    So hopefully I help one or two people at least - I do think, especially once I start offering free personal training and consulting, that the following will grow. They have a 5k in May that I would like to see a good turn out for but mostly I just want to help one person at a time (which really helps me, ya know? so at the root , I am just selfish)

    You know how many of of us you are helping here though, right. I mean, you are literally saving lives.

    Mary - I agree with Kerry.  You are helping so many of us.  I think it is absolutely wonderful what you are doing for us and for everyone else.

    I set up my sprak page finally!! Today I am signing up for my very first sprint tri here in NC for May. I am really excited. My goal today is to run 2 miles without stopping and then weights/abs.

    I was catching up with my chemo group and was curious by a post from Kerrymac, so I searched you guys out!  Wow! You are all so inspiring...I know I am not a 3, but does 2B count to get in your group?  I did find you on sparkpeople and hope it was okay to join your team.  Thanks to you all for the inspiration!

    Yep, I love getting up at 6:00 am in the snow and cold to trudge around my neighbourhood in the dark! LOL!

    Seriously, I have about doubled my exercise since the TT's started. I am really feeling great, and my husband was admiring my abs the other day!  So something is working.

    Even if I am feeling tired, exercise always makes me feel better. In fact, I get grumpy when I don't do anything. So, come on everyone, get your bodies moving!

    I'm feeling great too.  Like Kerry, I feel kind of out of sorts if I don't do my excercises so that's a good thing!

    I try to do them twice a day. One in the morning at home and then I go to the gym in the evening with my husband to work.  I'm just hoping I will find to do it all when I go back to work in April.

    The spin instructor at the ymca last night said "You are in great shape and I can count on you to keep up!"  This is one of the toughest classes. 

    The best part is that she has no idea that I am a cancer survivor or finished treatment a year ago! 

    It is tough fitting it all in with work AND family but we make it work.  The hardest part is my younger daughter.  She is 14 and has your average level of snarly teenness :-)  Most days I drive her to school at 7am and then dont see her again til 8pm when I get home from gym.

    I have explained to her that excercise is part of my treatment and we spend a lot of time together on weekends too but I always feel that niggle of guilt.

    Last night she told me "I ran into so-sos mom, she was asking about you so I told her about your breast cancer exercise challenge and the work you are doing at Gilda's and all the people you are helping" 

    In the words of Sally Fields..."She likes me, she really likes me"  :-)

    I posted this on Spark Page but I was entering my minutes all wrong!  I was entering them at the beginning page when you sign in and not on the team page!  (Duh!!!  Can I blame chemo brain!!).  I just updated that so hopefully it will show up!!

    I know when I go back to work that it is going to be hard, really hard.  My son is 14 too, but like I already told him - I have to make the time when I go back.  I really don't want this to come back and even though I know there are no guarantees, I know in my mind that I am doing what I can as a prevention.

    I am lucky in that way, as I have several hours a few times a week with not much to do. So, getting an extra work-out in is much easier.

    I love it though that my kids know I go out walking every morning; or in the weekends, when I go downstairs to do a Wii work-out, they know it is Mummys exercise time and don't come and want to "play too' . They see exercise as being important in my life, and they hopefully will keep it a big part of their lives too.

    Everyminute - Any chance you could take your daughter with you to the gym?  My daughters are a bit older but it has helped to take them with me through the years.  It isn't really spending quality time with them as we are both off doing our own thing but does help with the snarlies.  Beats shopping constantlly with them too!  I go once in a while with Justine (my 18 year old); but schedules make it difficult. It sounds like she is very proud of you Mary!  We sure are.

    Kim - It will be a challenge to keep the work outs up when you return.  Maybe a lunch hour workout?  Longer workouts on the weekends?

    Thanks, Bev !  We do a little bit of it all.  We bring her with us one night a week (even though that means going past our gym by 15 mins to get her and bring her 15 mins back after work) and go out to dinner where our other daughter works, One night a week she has flute practice which coincides timewise so we alternate one drops off and one pics up.  We encourage her to come along with friends to swim while we work out which she sometimes does. Its just mommy guilt!

    Sherri, you are right. Sometimes I am half way around my morning "loop" before I even wake up! It is so automatic for me, it is now what I do every morning when i get out of bed. Absolutely a habit!

    Remember that your body can get quite accustumed to that morning sleep walk so throw in a few jogs or maybe really throw things off and bike or hike one day!

    It was a beauty day for a long walk today.  Melting snow, singing birds....I could almost smell Spring!  Didn't even fall on the ice today!

    I passed the test - I am a personal trainer!!!!

    My exercise challenge at Gilda's Club is going very well.  Many people very interested and excited about it. 

    My contest here on BCO has another 10 prize winners for FEB!

    I am meeting with the Wellness Director at the YMCA this week about a program for cancer survivors where I can offer personal training (from a survivors point of view) and I am trying to get funding from livestrong.

    All good things, really good things and yet they make me nervous.,.you know, the "what if I am pursuing this and it comes back"...but I am setting the fear aside and just trying to enjoy doing something that I want to do.

    Now - to figure out how I am going to fit in all this with kids, family, work....

    Triathalon in ten days!
