Francine....Congrats on your checkup. I get my first MRI and Mammo in late March. See PS in April. Not looking forward to it....I have the state of mind that as long as you don't tell me any differently, all is fine!
Beth...Good luck with your surgery tomorrow. One more stepping stone to get to where you want to be! I'll be thinking about you and praying for a quick recovery.
Take care all,
Chris
P.S. I forgot!! I am going on a cruise to Caribbean next Saturday. Found an awesome deal and will leave 2/27 to 3/6. DH and 2 DS's and myself. I can't wait...really need to be in a better place right now!
-
Chris: That's great...a cruise. Have fun and enjoy. Francine is heading on a cruise (next week too) I think.
-
Hi Ladies,
Chris..As Beth said I too am going on a cruise..also on the 27th with my DH. We are only going on a five day as we both eat to much. It is a Carnival out of Tampa. .We have been on a number of Carnival cruises and always had fun.
Chris ..have great time ..you deserve it.
Can't wait to meet all in April..
Hugs,
Francine

Francine...what ports are you going to? We hit Montego Bay, Cozumel, Cayman, Nassau, and Key West. Any chance you are at these???
Chris
-
Just checked...you are in Cayman on 3/1 and Cozumel on 3/2. We are in Cayman 3/1 and Cozumel 3/2. We can wave as we pass each other out in the ocean!!!
-
Pickle....Good luck!...you will do great!
-
Beth - Best wishes with your surgery.
Francine - I did enjoy the hotel but, we didn't get to spend much time there. We did too much sight seeing. Next vacation we will be relaxing more but, we had a great time.
-
Nash..Glad you enjoyed your time away , that's what counts..
Beth..Hope you are doing fine with a minimal of pain.
Chris..You will be in Grand Cayman and Cozumel the same days as us. How funny...
Hugs,
Francine
-
Francine...I got it backwards. We go to same ports but on opposite days. Ships passing in the night! I'll have to leave you a surprise on Cozumel before I leave.....thinking, thinking!
-
Chris..I thought you might have got it wrong but it didn't matter .
It is funny that we will be there a day apart.
What line are you going on and from what port.?
Have you been to the Cayman Islands and Cozumel.?
I know we both will have good time.
Funny that I will be away the day I began my chemo..one year ago. can you believe its been almost a year for all of us.
Hugs,
Francine

Just checking in. I am home and everything went well. Uncomfortable but hey...that's to be expected and the painkillers help. Having toast and tea then back to bed.
Nasahryne: Glad you had a good holiday.
Francine and Chris: That's great that you both will get away. I wonder what Chris will leave behind in Cozumel for Francine. That is so funny.
Thanks for the well wishes everyone.
Hugs

Francine...I went on a cruise last year on 3-1 to 3-8 and then started chemo 3-10. Funny, I did not have those dates in mind when I scheduled this one....coincidence??
Beth-Glad to hear you are doing well.. Get lots of rest and take care of yourself!
Hugs all around!
-
Hi ladies,
Beth.. glad to see you on the board. I am sure you are relieved it is over. Each day you will feel better. So nice of you to keep us informed. Are you comfortable laying in bed? That was always my hardest part. Will be in contact later.
Chris- Funny how these dates stick in our minds. So what ship or line are you on..Yes what will you leave me ..Maybe I leave you something in the Georgetown.. Something to think about. LOL.
Busy day once again..Glorious, Sunny wintry day in NY. Taking my disabled nephew out for lunch. He is 28..very disabled but a real pleasure to be with..a charmer.,.
Hugs to all.

Hi ladies,
Another sunny , windy day in NY.
Beth..So how are you doing today? Feeling a little better..
Dawn...How great to be going to meet a fellow BCO person. Sounds exciting and Miami should be great at this time of the year.
Chris- How is that line...MSC, Not familiar with it. On Cozumel we only go to the beach. probably Paradise Beach..After we return from our cruises I will be in contact with you and we will talk further about Hotel reservations in NYC..

Francine...that is where we go in Cozumel too. My kids love it there...so much to do! That is where I will leave you something! Yes, when I get back we can start pricing hotels and getting some directions printed up that everyone can get. I am really looking forward to that weekend!
Beth...hope the pain meds are working!!
Hope everyone had a great weekend...here comes Monday!

Dayla is doing well- just got on the computer after several days of travelling. Cats are dropped off at friends and family. One cat went to my mom's (grandma's) and is loving life on the radiant heat floor and constant attention and no other cats- both she and my mom are neurotically happy, may not be able to take her back in the fall. She's my favorite cat and I would miss her but if she's happier and she makes my mom happy...
the other two cats went to some friends who have 3 kids, 3 cats (now 5), 2 dogs, 2 rabbits, 4 guinea pigs and 1 ferret. They are still adjusting but one of their cats groomed one of mine today.
we are down in FL and neurotically happy to be warm and moving ever closer to beginning our hike (which will not be warm tho). We are staying at my dad's in Tampa for a couple nights , maybe camping a couple nights and then goingback to my best friend's in Orlando.
-
Dayla! Enjoy!!!! Have a save andhealthy trip, update when you can!
Beth! Hope you are on the mend!
-
Dayla..have a great trip!!
-
Everyone going on trips - have a great time. My chemoversary is on March 11th, and my 4month checkup is on that day.
-
Hi Ladies!
So sorry I am such a terrible one for keeping up. I just read all the posts since I last visited (in early January around my cancerversary). I am glad to hear that you are all well, and getting on with life. Good wishes to those still in treatment and getting surgeries! I see some of you from time to time on facebook, and it always makes me smile!
I am (ironically, or maybe destiny?) going to be in NY on those exact dates with my male BFF. We have a ton of things planned, but I would love to sneak away and meet up with all of you at some point during the trip! How great it will be to meet some of you wonderful ladies!
Health-wise I have been ok. I graduated to seeing my onc every 3 months now, despite having abnormalities in my last mammo. I will have another mammo/US in June and we will see how that looks. Tamox SE's have been tolerable, but I am relieved to hear that others have been eating and snacking like crazy. I wondered why I had been doing that! Now I can blame the meds, lol. I am getting it under control. And I have been training for the Rock n Roll 1/2 marathon in New Orleans, which is this coming Sunday (aaack!). I am running/walking it, and won't be very fast, but will definitely finish!
Great to see all of you and hope that NY works out!
Janine

Hi Ladies,
First of all.Beth- how are you feeling? You know you are on all of our minds as you begin your next step in our Journey..
Janine. Isn't that great that you will be in NYC when we all are. We will firm up our itinerary as the time comes closer but I am sure we can arrange something so we(BCO ladies) can meet up with you. I am interested in what type of things you plan on doing. Maybe we can do some of the same. Wow you are training for a half Marathon ..very impressive. Keep in touch..
Dayla- great to hear you have made the first step in your journey..We are all eager to hear about what you are doing and where you are.Have the trek of a lifetime..
Tomorrow I have my half yearly BS checkup. I will talk to her about my lumpy breast(due to it being lifted ) and about lymphphedemia.
Another first today. I filled out an application to become a patient navigator with the local chapter of the American Cancer Society. I have been on this journey for some time and do believe that I can be a help to those beginning their journey with BC.
Hugs ,
Francine
-
Beth...my chemoversary is March 11th too. How time seems to fly!
-
Janine it is lovely to see you here - and well done on the marathon plans! I don't have the Tamoxifen excuse that others have - I am just a pig I think.
Dayla have an absolutely wonderful time. Find an internet cafe somewhere along the route to give us some updates!
I have had to stop writing the blog because LD's ex-wife was reading it and making trouble for him. It is a shame, but I am going to think of it as an opportunity to really put the cancer journey behind me. Not writing the blog can be a sign that it is all really over.
Will continue to check in here, though - I couldn't stop THAT!
-
Dayla.... Enjoy the weather in FL while you can and have a safe hike. It has been cold back here all week.
-
Beth..I am a little worried..Are you okay?
