Can an infection be fought naturally?

Options

Little background info......I had my exchange surgery 2 weeks ago. I developed a slight infection 2 days ago (radiated breast). Ive started oral antibiotics for 7 days, will visit my PS Friday and probably continue for another 2 weeks.

Ive been on Clindamycin 3x/day so far so good, and I have noticed some improvment. My chest is not as painful.

I have done some searching and been told, that infections can reappear even after succesfully being treated. Im concerned about this happening again, and wondering if there is anything I can do after finishing the antibiotics or at the same time to help fight a future infection.

Thanks.

    Lexi

Have done lots of research on the immune system as I had problems with WBC after chemo.

1000 mg. of Vit C helped immensely after treatment as did meditation and eating right. I have not gotten all of the sicknesses the rest of my family has gotten including swine flu,.I believe it to be a direct result of the Vit D and C.

Of course I am no Doctor and infection should be addressed by anti's as well but as far as building up the immune system C and D are great.

    Thanks mmm5...

Its a start..... and Ive been googling this morning and read about Vitamin C. I do have some 1000mg. I wonder if the 1000mg is enough right now with an infection going on? Maybe 2000mg.

I ve been taking vitamin D3 4000iu, for almost 2 weeks..although I have forgotten a couple of days here and there.

    I never get infections!...lol.

I have taken up to 2000 mg of C with no issues except a little loose stools.

Keep up the Vit D daily as it has a cummalative effect.

Post surgery I took arnica montana (12C or 30C strength).  Place under tongue - no food or drink for twenty minutes before and after.  I didnt have enough time to do the whole protocol so I just did the arnica but below is what was given to me by my MD.  Take 2-4 weeks prior to surgery and continue 4-6 weeks post.  All are taken with food except the enzymes and the homeopathics.  I don't know if these are antibiotic but they are supposed to help heal.

     Vitamin C - 1000 mg 2-3x day

    Vitamin A - 25000 mgday

    zinc 30-50 mg day

    copper 2-3 mgs day

flavenoids citrus bioflavenoids 500-1000mgs 2-3 day or centella asiatica 30mgs 1-2 2x day

    systemic enzymes neprinol 2-3 3xday

    arnica - no caffeine

place four pellets under tongue the night before surgery.  after surgery, as soon as you can take fluids 4 pellets under tongue 4x/day - day 1; 4 pellets under tongue 3x day - day 2; 4 pellets under tongue 2x day - day 3; 4 pellets under tongue 1xday - day 4 then stop.  may repeat if healing is lessened.
