-
Look what I found as my screensaver this morning.A birdy valentine.
-
Mum. How amazing is that?
(((((((((((((((((((((((((((Elaine)))))))))))))))))))))))))))
Everybody have a great weekend.
Happy Valentine's to all of our bunnies.
Big hugs.

Oh that is too sweet Mumya!!! How romantic....sigh.
If you come up to the Elmvale zoo here, we have flamingoes, and giraffes and wild animals to take pics of. They are in barns during the winter. I asked if they at least have music and the caretakers said yes, they play ROCK95. hehehehheee
-
GramE ... thanks for the info - I will check out that thread! I would be very interested in meeting up with the gals! Thanks!
Faith ... I can't believe 4 weeks have gone by! Good for you. My youngest sister told everyone she met that I had bc - including people waiting in the grocery store line! I don't care, its just funny to me.
Elaine ... I have always had trouble with my teeth. It seems that whatever I have wrong in my mouth is about 5 years ahead of whatever effective treatment they come up with.
Love to all.
!

Wishing all you bunnies a wondermous weekend!
Hugs to ya all!!!
Edit: trying something else! Sure don't want to get in trouble for using copywrited material.
-
Never mind Coonie lovey, pics not there but it's the thaught that counts and you are a very very thaughtful dusbunny. The queen.
Have a lovely weekend all.
I had a long coffee break this a.m with my DH, 1st day of half term to taking it easy. Did 2 hours of going through sorting and throwing out papers from office. Ever since BC I really stuggle with that as I don't seem to have the stamina to keep on top of all my "should do" and "would like to jobs", it's just concentrate on family needs, bit or r and r then try for some quality sleep. Nevermind, mum would have been proud of me, I threw out loads.
EWB, so sorry for your tooth thing, agghhh I feel for you. ((hug))
Everybody, stay warm and take care of yourselves.
xx

Sure hope your weekend is good Shiny!! Extra long coffee break sounds maaaavelous daaaaaahlin!!!

Happy Valentine's Day, everybody!........Just wanted to say I am leaving the boards for awhile.....I got a PM from a stage 3 gal who said a post of mine made her "cringe" because it was on a stage 3 thread and I am "only" stage 1.....Plus I cry everytime I come here anymore since Kbug died...I can't do this to myself anymore........I need a huge break......Maybe one day I will come back here, but I don't know......It is just too much anymore......I love you all and will miss you...I have most of your all's addresses so I I will send cards everyu once in a while......Faith, I hope you comtinue to heal well and tell Saint I miss her and love her too.......
-
Lucy, I know just how you feel! I'm on that thread too and it is getting heated up.>
A thread is only as good as it's topic for heaven's sake. If I, as a stage 2 start a humour thread, do I expect only stage 2's to add to it??? NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I likened it to a sandbox menatality. "My cancer is worse than your cancer!"
I, too, will probably leave the boards and let the stages beat each other up.
-
Hey Barbe,
I hope you don't leave the posts, I enjoy reading your input...
Hollyann, sorry to hear someone was that ignorant to PM you about your post.
Melanie
-
Lucy and Barbe I hope neither of you leave the boards. I haven't been on very much recently, just returned to work and concentrating on other things for a while, so I am out of touch with stuff on here. Lucy I'm sorry someone PM'd you because you posted on a stage 3 thread.Maybe I'll go and look for it, or on the other hand perhaps better not.
This was the first thread where I felt really welcomed and at home. Stage is not an issue here and I really don't want any of my dust bunny friends to leave.
Big hugs to you all. xoxoxo
-
Lucy I understand but will miss you.Try to check back occasionally.((((hugs)))
-
Happy Valentine's Day Dusty Buns.
I think the boards are kind of like house work.........we sometimes need a break from both from time to time.
-
WOW Sharon, georgous pic!!!
And, you're right about the break...sigh. I should stick to my usual fun threads, but no, I have to go out looking for what's new. Silly me.
-
Lucy & Barbe ... please don't leave. You guys provide such caring, love and humor here that you would both be sorely missed.
Barbe ... you are so right ... a thread is only as good as its topic and some topics just transcent all stages ... and some have nothing to do with cancer.
Lucy ... I am so sorry someone sent you such a callous PM because you are one of the most thoughtful and loving women here.
This is not a contest ... its women supporting each other. Please think before you send a PM. Love to all of you.
-
Kathleen I love that last bit of advice I hope everyone reads it.
-
I should just stick to my non-cancer related threads where everyone is nice...I hate the pissing contest of "my cancer is bigger/worse/more advanced/scarier than yours!"
-
Hope you dustbunnies had a wondermous Valentine's Day!!
Kathleen!!!! How are you feeling? I've been thinking about you all day! Hope you're ok.
Shinygirl---I know you made Valentine's Day special for your family. Did they spoil you just a little too? I hope it was a good day for you.
(((((((((((((((((((((((bunnies)))))))))))))))))
-
I took myself out for linner - late lunch, early dinner, with the lunch prices still on. Got a hug from the assistant manager, bartender. Turns out we were born in the same year... My bingo friends gave me a bunch of valentine lollipops. Hope all had a good day. Hugs, Nancy
-
Good morning Buns!
Coonie ... really, thanks for asking. I appreciate it. Aside from that diabetic foot ulcer, I'm fine. The only way it is going to heal is if I stay off of it and how am I going to do that? Even if my sister were here all day I would still have to take care of myself! Except for me, my sisters have very little compassion for injury or illness.
Nancy ... since our driveway was only cleaned on my sister's side, to go anywhere I have to convince her too since she has to drive! There are days (especially if I have a good book) that I prefer to eat out alone. I used to go out for breakfast all the time ... just me.
Sometimes I feel a little guilty posting because of my diagnosis. I know I was lucky (if you call losing your boobs lucky) as others have it so much worse. But I am not going to let that stop me from posting ... I just love all of you so much. Being able to share a part of your lives is such a priviledge. I am so glad I found this place and all of you.
And Lucy ... take as much time off as you need but then get your butt back here!
-
See, that is what I mean! You feel "guilty" posting because you're not a higher stage, yet you had breast cancer! It shouldn't matter. AND you're dealing with diabetes!!! We all have a cross to carry and breast cancer makes that cross heavier for some of us. I read of many stage iv women who are ned and at home living their lives, while I figure I'll probably die of heart disease just before my cancer recurs and kills me! I can't afford a second off work as I have to earn a living!
-
What is it with us women and guilt anyway? I felt terribly guilty posting on the radiotherapy thread for the month I had treatment because most of the other women had a really hard time with it and I had it easy. They didn't say anything to make me feel guilty, it was just reading about all the burning etc and I wasn't getting any. I was relieved too because I was terrified of rads and really had to psych myself up to do it, I just wish nobody had to suffer the burning.
-
Jayne, your posts probably helped others who read the thread but didn't post. Especially ones who were scheduled for rads the following month and terrified. If all you hear about is the frightening side effects, you think that they are universal.
-
PatMom - good point, I hope my experience did help somebody. One of the big factors that helped me to go through with it was that quite a lot of women I met on bco had already done it. Some were from this thread, thanks for sharing dust bunnies. They had differing experiences of it, but the fact that I knew they had been through it definitely helped me to think I could do it too.
-
You DID do it Jayne! And with flying colours...none of them toasty pink! ehheheheee
-
Good morning bunnies!!! Hope you all have a wondermous Monday!
Jayne---don't feel guilty girlfriend!! We're so glad you've done so good!
((((((((big hugs to you all)))))))))
-
Hi there bunnies,
Kids off school and after a really good day, my peripheral nerve pain is ...ing me off, so I am just popping in to say, I care and I am sending vibes your way and prayers up and I agree re the recent topic above. Barbe, just be here and be you on bco, you are a breath of fresh air.
It's such a shame when people loose perspective just long enough to hurt another bco girl. ((hug)) to all that have had a bad experience.
Hollyann, if you do get too heartbroken by some very sad news, it is important to get a break and see how you go. This is meant to be a sharing and caring community but if your heart is aching too much or you have had bad experiences, do take a break and remember there are lots of good caring people around, but protect yourself from hurt, for your sake. Your heart can only take so much, so it is too hard at time, you are right to take a break, when ever it's what you need. We'll be around to come back too. Take good care.
Kathleen ((hug)) Jayne, you did do sooo well with treatment, well done, enjoy your return to work.
Barbe, you do have sooo much more to contend with then BC and I am proud to know you and admire you for all you must cope with. What a star you are.
Coonie, I notice you are "around" so we haven't lost you completely, yeeeeeppppppppiiiiiiii!! How could we do without our queen of the bunnies!! But do take breaks when you need to, ya hear! I can't wait to try out the heart crayon project with my kiddos.
Spent the morning at a friends house prepping resources and training her to start supporting her son with a complex communication disorder, we've made a start, whilst the kids occupied themselves, I can see so much that can be done, so it's encouraging. I feel blessed to be able to help.
Hugs to all my bunny friends, no good for lists ladies, especially not with feet screaming, so do please accept my round the group hug mega parcel.

Hey there dusty buns!!!!
We went on a "retail therapy" outting...... my first adventure to a mall.
We're leaving in the morning for our Valentine's Day Adventure to the Beach.
I'm sure we'll have some limited connectivity -- know that I'll be thinking of everyone here.
xx00xx00xx00xx00xx
Have a great week -- you know I can't stay gone for very long.
-
Hi to all the dusty gals !!! Today I do the dentist to get broken crown fixed. Second time it has happened, but guaranteed for 5 years. Something seems wrong that this is the second time it has cracked... 5 months ago she replaced the original one as it cracked, but what do I know???
I posted on the older thread - saw baby Olivia and got to "touch" her. Son was holding and feeding, so I did not push holding her - yet... She has gained 5 ounces, which is a lot for original 3 pounds, 3 ounces birth weight and less than 2 weeks since birth, so the doctor says.
Time to get ready for the fang doctor !! Hugs for all, Nancy
