Five years out !
Just an encouraging word to all the Stage III'ers.... just celebrated this week my FIFTH year out . As you can see, my tumor was large and I had scads of positive nodes. So it is possible..we are not doomed and life can go on with some degree of normalcy.
How can i explain this ? ..I have no idea. I never expected to see this milestone and I am just in awe that I am doing so well . So ladies, please have hope . Live each day to the fullest .I do not know what is around the corner for me ,but by golly,I am not sitting around waiting for the other shoe to drop ! I wish the best to all of you......

Brilliant! And congratulations on a very happy milestone!
You're sentiments are similar to mine...I may have a 40 years of life left, a year, or one day, but by golly, I'm going to make the time in between full of fun and joy.

I will be an 8 yr survivor this May. Had my operation on Memorial Day Week-end 2002 and was finished 4 rounds of Chemo when my Mom passed away at 83 in Sept 2002. She lived about 10 minutes from me and was taking me to my treatments. I went on for her and finished Chemo on Veterans Day 2002. I finished Radiation on Valentines Day 2003. I started Tamoxifin Dec. 2002 and finished with Arimidex around Christmas 2007. the 5 years. It was a hard battle to fight but I made it...Just take one day at a time. I had my story published in the Better Homes and Gardens Pink Spiral Cookbook around 2007 or 2008. My Moms favorite receipe is published also "Cheese Nut Wafers." I was born and raised in Delaware and for the last 5 yrs have lived in N. Carolina.
