trying to pass the time
I cannot concentrate on anything, I am grumpy and not very fun to be around. I know it's because I am on edge regarding my path results. I should have them by Mon or Tues. for some reason I am much more on edge about these test results than any other. I just want to hide in my room. Having 4 kids doesn't really allow for that.
Off topic- anyone else feel a bit dizzy several days after their lumpectomy? Mine was on Wed but today i really feel off. I have tried increasing my water. Not sure what else to do.
thanks.

I have nothing specific to suggest, since I haven't yet had a lumpectomy. But just to say I completely understand the grumpy state and the inability to concentrate. I am also wondering if the dizzy feeling might be stress (or stress adding to it). No idea how old your kids are, but is there anyway to get out and do something, like go to a movie? Or watch some silly movie on dvd; I have been watching tons of junk tv myself these days. I am thinking about you this weekend and hoping you hear good news soon.

I completely understand the grumpiness.. I'm still grumpy after 2 1/2 weeks post-lumpectomy. but now my "waiting" is to get an appointment with the radiation oncologist. I'm finding that a day or two before any of the milestones (pathology results, appointments, etc), I become a critical, evil grouch. I'm not thinking about it consciously, but subconsciously I must be scared of what I'm going to hear. So you're not alone.. but I have no suggestions for how to stop it. I seem to simply take it out on my trying-to-be-understanding boyfriend. Poor guy.
And yes, I did feel light headed every time I got up quickly after my surgery.. still vaguely feel it after a couple of weeks.
Hope your path report is GREAT! and you don't have to wait a minute longer than you have to!

Thanks everyone. I did end up looking for some silly movies on TV. My kids thought I had lost my mind! We usually don't allow TV during the day. I sat around and then felt sick of myself so i cleaned up the house. My kids are 11,9,6,4 so I do have a big distraction there! I told my husband how I was feeling and that helped both of us. I guess we will just deal the best we can, as we all do, and trudge forward. I know it's normal to have 'down' days and I think this was just one of mine. Thanks for all the support ...it really helps and means so much.
AndreaS- I feel fine up until i have an appt. The day of and the next day I am a wreck! I think I just 'pretend' nothing is wrong and then when I have to go to an appt it's a bit of a rude awakening! I do feel sorry for our partners!

You are in the worst part; once you know what your treatment plan is; then you can 'deal with it'. Hang in there! Ruth

I just realized your signature means Mom of 3 boys and 1 girl! How nice.

I think it's pretty normal to be out of sorts post-surgery. I couldn't take a shower for a week and that let me feeling icky.
Do you have some reason to think the pathology won't be all DCIS?
