Back from final Rad my turn to RANT
Ok sistahs !!
Here goes...so I arrive at rads with my BFF...and I am feeling pretty good got over the sadness and was ready to roll..
Soooo I see this girl I recognize from a fitness class(long time ago)we exchange hellos ...first thing outta her mouth "What stage are you?"....Debi I needed you girlfriend I was stunned...So I say "3"..she gives me the awww so sorry freakin look !!!!!!!!The next thing she says "I'm only stage 1"Thank god she was called because I think I would have smacked her upside the head...she totally ruined my last treatment...welll not quite ...here is the upside ...another girl I have met there probably 3x and we have exchanged emails etc. comes in with a HUGE bouqet of flowers for me..she knew it was my last rads !! How kind is that? reminded me of Christine(can you believe i'm done) sitting with me during my 1st Chemo...the kindness of strangers ...I am hugging her and crying while MISS STG 1 looks on.....My techs wished me the best and off I went..to have lunch with my bfriend Angela ,she has been there since that frantic call from my docs office when my"LUMP" was found ..she orchestrated my TEAM CHEMO ..everyone should be so blessed to have a friend like her !!
small rant with some blessings... but rant none the less...
much love
Cheryl

Oh, the flowers made me cry! Congratulations!
-
C~ Thats when you use the "well we can all turn into stage lv at any time". Sorry I know that is twisted, but that is when that comment could be applied. Yeah I am sick I know
.
Anyway, I am sooooo happy that you are DONE! Yeah baby! Enjoy your flowers that was very nice. Yes you are right everyone needs a friend like that.
Hugs and smooches to ya. Again so glad you are DONE!
Onwards!
-
Oh, Cheryl, shame on Ms Stage 1. She should know better.
Do not let that spoil your day. You sound as though you have some wonderful people in your life.
Now enjoy having nowhere to go tomorrow. Well, Monday! (actually, Tuesday, but who's counting!)
-
Yeah..for finishng rads!
Boo...for Ms. Stage 1.(love that one Kerry)
-
A big yeah for you, and what would we do without the kindness of strangers? A lady I never met brought me 3 butterfly bushes when I was done with treatment. My husband worked for her husband and he told her I was looking for butterfly bushes. As it turned out she run a lawn company and ordered them for me.
-
I am so happy for you!!!!
PS
One day I was in Kohls shopping and me and this girl (both bald) started talking-it was obvious we both had breast cancer. Anyway when she found out I was prego she says," Oh Gosh I must have a better prognosis then you then'" I was like-Did I just hear her correct? What happen to the sista hood? lol People say dumb things when they are only thinking of themselves-.
-
I am also shocked at how people have no tact or consideration to other people's feelings. The "fitness class" girl should know better than to ask such question esp. when she also has BC. She should know what a difficult time it is no matter what stage you are in.....
Congrats on finishing your Rads. Glad you have a great BFF.
Take Care,
Chalex

Cheryl - congrats on being done. So sorry you had to encouter stage 1 lady, but it sounds like you are surrounded by many other wonderful people-enjoy this wonderful day.
FYI - I have a friend just like yours - she is so special and I know without her sick sense of humor, support and help I couldn't have gotten through this without going crazy. She has made me laugh non-stop during this orderal. And..... when it's time for recon she is throwing me a "Welcome Back" party at Hooters.
-
A "welcome back" party at Hooters! I love it!
-
I cant even get into the details of where I was yesterday - but I was trying to help a stage 4 sistah' out. She totally rocked me with something she said and I had no come back. sigh.
-
Hooters haaa I may have to steal that idea !! I want to get all my gfs together for lunch...I dont think they're known for their food tho !!...Mary I guess i will have to develop a thicker skin...Usually things roll off my back ...I dont let stupid comments get to me & I am quick with a retort..just a bad day !!but all the love I got yesterday ...from family, friends, bco sisters ...it erases that "self absorbed" comment..I really mean this ..much love C
-
Ok one more comment...I will preface this by telling you my mom does not own has never been on would not know how to...oh never mind you get the point !!
Any ways...on her card yesterday that I added yesterday ...she signed it...much love...shes 82 ...how weird is that ??she would have no idea that is what I use here !!
much love C
