OT - signs of Spring
Here in my chilly latitude of 42.8, a consistently reliable harbinger of spring is
the first appearance of Pepe Le Pew.
The skunks always know when to come out.
I have smelled 2 this week! Each was in a very distant area from the other, so I don't
have to wonder if it's just some deluded individual.
Thought this news might bring a little cheer to the snowbound folks south of us.

Hey, here in UK 4 days ago I saw snowdrops, and the birds are thinking about finding places to nest....soon be flaming summer....NOT.

I'm in TN and we have 4 inches of snow on the ground and some comming next week. Won't get to or above 40 F for another week or so.
Beautiful garden above, must be a huge pleasure. Have a friend who lives on Coronado Island and she always has blooms, just no bulbs.
I Have jonquils/daffodils peeking up from the soil, tho, and will bring in forsenthia for forcing soon.
I still have a bowl of 6/ $1, teeny poinsettas from before Christmas and they do look cheerful for Valentine's. Longest lasting blooming plant I've ever had in this house. LOL
My dh is asked to never buy Valentine's flowers--way too costly and I'd rather have more frequently After the "day". LOL

I was up very early this morning and enjoyed a bird singing from the yew tree outside the front porch window at dawn - nice!!! Call my lat 42.5 north, upper midwest, USA. Still snow on the ground but that's OK, my grandma would have called it God's mulch for the spring flowers. :-)

I am awaiting spring
and love this season
Had a lovely hawk in tree right outside my window
yesterday
The flowers are lovely, SOCaLisa

Normally, our earliest daffodils would have bloomed and wilted by now. This year, they've sent up green shoots but the buds are still tightly closed. I doubt we'll see blossoms until early March at this rate. The snowbells were barely peeking through the leaf litter when I checked them today. That's the normal schedule for my clump. They tend to lag behind the daffodils by about a month.
Thank goodness we don't have any snow. What came on Feb. 12 and 14-15 has melted already (as usual). We sure don't need or want any more.
