Ohhhhh you Beachettes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It looks like you've had a wonderful party!
I'm sorry I missed out on all the fun! Photobucket has contaminated my puter...poopoo
So, now I'm a little leary of posting a pic. I'm fixing to hunt one down on google...maybe that won't cause any problems.
Beachies...........big ((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))) to you all!! I think about you everyday!!
I got your back....
I got your back
You got mine,
I'll help you out
Anytime.To see you hurt
To see you cry,
Makes me weep
And wanna die.And if you agree
To never fight,
It wouldn't matter
Who's wrong or right.If a broken heart
Needs a mend,
I'll be right there
To the end.If your cheeks are wet
From drops of tears,
Don't you worry,
Let go of your fears.Hand in hand
Love is sent,
We'll be friends
Till the end. -
so Coonie...how do you think Photobucket is messing up??
Inquiring minds want to know so we can avoid it...
do you think it is ok to do your own photos?
-
I'm not sure Lisa....I just know that the last time I was using my computer, finding pics on photobucket and posting to BCO, my computer tried to start running these virus scans, etc. then would just lock up on me and finally had to shut computer completely off. DH re-booted from scratch and I'm able to at least log on and type. . LOL.....But I do remember a message from the moderators about photobucket causing some problems. But maybe it's been fixed by now. I'm jut too chicken to try it.....LOL
-
I never used photobucket, but I read the message also.
How are you Lisa?
How are you coonie?
-
I'm better Seyla......thanks for asking.
How are you?
-
I am pooped..too much getting the house ready for parties and putting them
on..I need a maid...
-
Coonie welcome back I new we would find you somewhere.
-
Lisa, didn't you get your kitchen done too? Mine is finished finally, except a hood fan and small bits of quarter round baseboard, and some touch up paint on the window frames and.....
-
I dont know what this picture means, but its pretty enough to post it.
Hi Beachettes
-
Pondering the progress I am making.
Just home from the community gym..... walked the treadmill for 35 minutes straight at a higher and higher pace. Walked around the neighborhood this morning, before the rain for 25 minutes..... my first 60 minute total!! Whoooooooieieieieie.
I'm sitting with freezer-pack every evening in an effort to combat the swelling.
Baby steps forward. Baby steps.
xx00xx00xx00xx
-
Faith, you shouldn't be swelling....
If you aren't over-exercising your arms then there should be no effect on your chest. What's happening???
Note: don't use ice for more than 15-20 minutes as it then begins to freeze the skin itself (and you probably are still numb.)
-
Barbe. Thank you for your concern.
Slight swelling where the drains were removed. More on my proffie-side, which I think is ironic. Started after drains were removed. Nothing dramatic. Happened to see onc & he assured me my body would 'reabsorb' fluids in time..... time being the operative concept.
Spoke to my breast-care-nurse and she said that it can take between weeks & months..... and to ice periodically. She had given me the 15 minute warning too. So I am following instructions. Happy to report that there is no 'additional' swelling.
Still have limited ROM on effected side and have set up appointment with PT specialist. That shoulder was already in 'frozen' mode prior to surgery -- so I knew it would be headed this direction. This is my right-hand/arm and of course I'm right-handed/armed so will work to get this back to the new normal.
I slept well last night, so I'm feeling on top of the world today.

-
Faith, have your DH massage cream into your chest. It will help break up the swelling and keep your skin supple and move your muscles. And it feels good! My DH bonded with my new look faster than I did. I still have him give me a chest massage about twice a week.
When you're on top of the world like that, can you see me in Canada?

ok ladies - I am ready to buy a camera - any suggestons? I want something that is easy to use but that I can grow into (should I get hooked on photography, which I think I will
)
Hoping everyone is doing well, staying warm and staying out of trouble (
)

Elaine. Our Lisa was an excellant & knowledgable guide to camera purchasing when I was on the prowl. She suggested Canons and that's what I ended up with.
I have a Canon PowerShot SX110 IS. I'm in love with it. It's the right 'size' for me, in that I can tuck it easily into my purse when out and about or in a pocket when I'm headed down to the marina.
It has an optical zoom of 10X and is 9.0 Mega Pixels.
I know all of this because it is printed upon the camera.
I am still such a novice, but gaining confidence!!
The only draw-back to this exact model is that it has NO viewfinder..... Only the digital screen. The only time that becomes problamatic in my experience is when taking shots outside on a very sunny day. Sometimes the sun on the screen makes it hard for me to see the image.
So consider that issue.
It was on sale & within our budget.
Has lots of whizzardry, but doesn't overwhelm me with toooooo many choices and 'screens' within screens within choices.
Have fun.

Just to add my two cents on cameras..
I do always want a viewfinder...I can't see the screen in
the sunlight very well and I need to really see that it is in focus..
I have the Canon SX20IS ..it is 12 mega pixels and 20 optical wide zoom
You really need to look at optical zoom the digital zoom you can do on
the computer..
I did not want another camera with alot of lenses...this just has the one and
I love that...you can grow into this camera and start out with using the
automatic mode and find it easy...
Watch out for "good deals" on the internet..there is a grey market in
cameras...the same look but made in China or somewhere...the real Canon
is made in Japan.... you can PM me if you would like more info and no
I don't work for Canon..or anyone..
-
I got a camera........yippeeeee...........now all I need is a beach. Hugs beachettes.
Edit to add, I mean I JUST got a camera.
-
Hey Sharon..you have the first step!!
hooray..on your way!!
-
-
The bill on that bird looks like a punishment from God! Like Pinochio the Duck or something.
I have a Nikon D80 with one of the lenses being a telephoto lens that goes up to 900x. It's a real bad ass, that's for sure!
-
Camera talk my DH is salivating and he is still in Montreal.Hope everyone has a great weekend we are celebrating here.
-
Thanks ladies - I am off this weekend to make a purchase, I've been taking photos w a bad camera and very frustrated w/ it so started snapping w my cell phone
and actually getting some decent shots but figure that won't work longterm. I'll let you know what I get. Happy Friday to everyone.
-
Just wanted to wish all my beachie friends Happy Valentine's Day !!!
-
Sending lots of hugs to my beach friends
-
-
getting warmed up!!
-
Beach love!
Beach love!
Beach love!
Beach love!
Today I am four weeks out from surgery and notice that I have indeed made progress. LOL.
I also realize that this is a "process" to reclaim my life..... have a ways to go, but I'm headed in the right direction.
Thanks in large part to each and every one of you.
What I want you to know though, is that it's not been just the last four weeks that you have carried me along, but because of your examples over the last couple of years I've known that I could carry on.
Sending you love.
Sending you more love.
Sending you still more love.

Strength and courage.
Strength and courage.
Strength and courage.

(((Hugs))) We are here because YOU are our inspiration. Happy Valentine's Day.

Things happen in our lives, not things that we want but things that we need. Things that will make us the woman we are meant to be. No always easy, not always happy but we get thru because we are much stronger than we know, and have all the skills, knowledge and people in our lives to help us. People we don't even know we need, but they are there none the less exactly where and when we need. As we give and receive support and inspiration, we receive and give so much more, so much that enriches our lives, our beings, our souls and spirits. So often I expect that we don't even know when we are helping or even who, but a gentle word or look or gesture at just the right time has the power to change a life.
For that - I thank you all and wish you all a very happy St. Valentine's Day
-
Beautifully said Elaine! You are waxing very poetically lately...
There is a saying:
It's not what you get from life that counts,
It's what you give.
