radiation burns

I had a bolus every day so I got fried -- the tech said it was 2nd degree burns. I've read where some have used a wash or a soak of some sort but of course, now that I want to know more about it I can't find it. I think it started w/a "D" -- like dunburo or something like that. Any help is appreciated. Thanks. Karenanne

Hi kmf...I had very bad burns and blisters from radiation.

I was prescribed an Antibiotic cream by the radiation Oncologist

I have the Silvedine cream and it is great. But, some ladies have talked about a wash or a soak that they used too. Thanks. Karenanne

It's called Domeboro. I think you soak gauze in it and apply it.

aloe vera?

My rad onc. said Aloe vera was too drying. That is a problem w/the Silvedine too -- so I had petroleum infused gauze pads I put over it. I tried the Domeboro last night -- it felt good, but it too is a bit drying, so I slathered on the Aquaphor afterwords. Can't tell if it sped up the cool down process or not. I think I'll try it again later today. Karenanne
