Does anyone besides me realize it has been a whole year since we lost our sweet Zarowny?......The 6th would have been her 35th b'day if I a not mistaken........I miss her and CTG so much....Woke up this morning with them and Kbug on my mind so had to say something..........
-
Oh and by the way Coonie, SAINTS WIN!.....SAINTS WIN!........SAINTS WIN!........I'm taking that as a good omen for our dear Saint and Faith!.......
As our dear Steph was wont to say...GOD IS ABLE!......... -
Hello Sweet Bunnies.....my puter got a good hack job from photobucket, so I've been giving it a little rest. I have been thinking of you all each and every day though.
Looks like congratulations are in order for Nancy!!! A new little granddaughter (Olivie). That's sooooo exciting Nancy. I hope baby and mommy are recovering well. Nothing like a new baby smell....sweet sweet sweet. And, you're getting a new place too!! You've got ALOT going on. No housekeeping for you.
Barbe--is your daughter really really sick? I hope she doesn't have to feel that way throughout her whole pregnancy. But it'll be worth it in the end.
Sharon....it looks like you've cheated a few times lately. You've had help with your chores. I haven't had any help, so if you think you could spare one of your "workers" please see if he can rope #32 and drift down south to help me out....LOL
Mum.. ... love your pics. Happy Chinese New Year! Sounds so exciting!
Kathleen---how are you feeling sweets? I sure hope everything is going ok with you.
Dream---please get well soon. Been thinking 'bout you.
Arnie----get that blood pressure under control my friend. That can be some serious stuff with that. Good thing to do is rest, no stress and take your blood pressure meds. I hope things are under control now. Sending hugs and kisses to Trent and Lilah:)
Jayne--how did it feel going back to work today? I hope it's going to be just what the doctor ordered. You'll finally feel a little touch of normalcy in your life again! I'm happy for you.
Lucy---so sorry for the loss of Kbug...I know you were friends. It's got to be so hard to lose someone you've been on personal contact with. I know it makes me sad to lose a sister that I've never even met, but just wish the pain and suffering could all go away.
EWB-- You've also been in my prayers. Hope everything in your life and family are running smoothly. How's the new addition of the kitthen working out? I hope you all have bonded.
Shinygirl-----you have been on my mind ALL DAY LONG today! How did things go....or will you have more appts, etc. this week. Please keep us posted if you can. We've got your back, hanging out in your purse, back pocket, and all these hidden places.
Faithie-----I checked out your other thread. It seems like you're taking a step or two frontwards, then maybe a half a step back. But, you'll eventually get to where you want to be.....where you will be content and satisfied and maybe just not even give it a second thought. It does take time. I'm going on 2 years....I still "very seldom" try to pity myself, but then I bang on my chest like Tarzan and say, "I'd rather be healthy and flat than carry boobs loaded with cancer".....nope nope nope........don't wanna be carrying no cancerboobs that's for sure for sure!!
Vivvygirl------do you like Yoga? Can you tell me how I would go about starting yoga? Is there a DVD or something? I really need to get my old fat out of shape body in better working condition. I don't want to look like Miss America or anything, but it would be nice to be able to walk without a limp....LOL.
Maryrose----I'm so glad you're on the mend. Getting hair back sure makes you feel more like a person again. My chemo was two years ago, and just the last 3 days I've been able to pull all of my hair into a ponytail!!! I finally feel like myself again (with my hair at least).
I've missed some I know, but has anyone seen any posts from KAK, MAK, BKC, PatMom, Dejaboo, 2new1's, OhioDeb, Cathi1,.......I hope I haven't missed anyone. My brain isn't working 100% right now....LOL.
Thinking of you all and sending the bests and biggest and peachiest vibes to all of you!!!
(((((gentle hugs to one and all))))))))))
-
Coonie, so glad to see you posting......The Saints won the Super Bowl!......Can you believe it???......I am so glad they did........
Hope all my dusty bunny sistahs have a wondermous Tuesday!.....
WOW!.....It has been WAY too quiet here lately!......Are all you all doing housework?????......... -
I'm still here. I read, even if I don't post much on this thread.
I have been doing yoga for a few months, and it has made a real difference in my range of motion and flexibility. If you can find a class that is designed for cancer survivors, or that is labeled "healing", you are likely to be in a class that will meet your needs at least to start, and they are frequently offered at no cost.
Yoga Bear is a national non-profit that offers free yoga classes for cancer survivors. http://www.yogabear.org/
You may also find classes through your local Team Survivor organization, or just by searching the web for yoga classes for cancer survivors in your area.
A fun bonus was the shock in my 20 year old niece's voice when she found out that I do yoga. It's good to bust stereotypes!
-
Coonie, so impressive as always, you don't have to show up often to impress us, as when you do, gosh girl you DO have it together, Queen Coonie. ((hug)) Glad we are keeping in touch lovey.
Pat Mom, good advice, I have been doing Pilates with someone who knows about cancer and surgeries etc, and it has been brilliant. I haven't been since just before Christmas due to health issues but am hoping to get back to it gently next week.
Had some of my scan's Monday and going got an ECG Thursday to start looking at my Arrythmia like issues also now, what a lemonette!!
Just sent off my "reply to the response from the Local Authority to the Upper Tier Judge's directives"(DS's special educational needs stuff).. whewwwww. Nice to get that out of the way. I can colapse tonight, please God, and celebrate being "off deadline mode" on Thursday night with my dear DH, as several deadlines will soon be looming again.
Thinking of you all often and sending peachy vibes for you all from over here. My fingers are shot and am actually pretty dizzy.. or is that ditsy?? he he probably both. so no attempt to a list ladies, I need to lie down before school run etc..
But, I do read you and care and send prayers up for you ALL, my loveys.

Shiny, how did the weekend with DD go????
Also, I don't do yoga but am very pliant (double jointed), but people try to talk me out of pilates saying they would be too hard. Are they???
Keep us posted on your results.
Genlte hugs, love

Hi Barbe, are you at work?
Weekend seems so long ago now. Yes it was lovely, althaugh I got very little sleep, so it was draining, my body needs visco elastic foam as a bed now, can't be without. Saw a genuinly fun movie (cloudy with a chance of meatballs), it was puuurfect for my 6 year old. She got to ride on the top deck of a double decker bus to and from the shops. We swam loads and had lots of laughs.
She even got a suprise teddy "from the hotel" (which I organized) on arrival, so that it felt like magic. The teddy had a scarf and hat in her favorite teal colour so she "borrowed the teddie's bits to wear out. (They were actually child size strechy yarn, so that was the plan).
Pilates can be done at what ever level, and trust me Barbe I am at the low level, but it is very good for stress posture core stability etc.. If you find the right teacher it's brill.
Gosh, am dizzzzzy.
xx Shiny
-
Ah Shiny, I hate the thought of you dizzy....lie down and catch a few zzzzzzz. Hope you get straightened out soon. Enough is enough!
-
You said it daaaaaaaaaaling. Am going to have a wee little lie down befor school. It is a nuisance, the lemon status, but don't get me wrong, I am still very grateful, it's just a bit relentless but we'll get there. Patience is a virtue and all of that.
Take care of you.

Sounds like a wonderful magical weekend with your daughter! You done good!
Teal is my second favourite colour, the first is purple! Me and 85% of females between the ages of 8 and 14.
-
Hi Dusty Buns. I've been taking a wee break..............and no NOT to do housework. Gentle hugs all. Don't do too much vacuuming.
-
Vacuuming? Around here all anybody's been doing is shoveling. We got off easy, and have only gotten about 34 inches of snow since Saturday. Thank God for neighbors with snow blowers! Now they're talking about more coming on Monday????!!!!!
-
Pipping thru to check in on our Presidente Lemonettie.
Good to hear about your weekend with your dearest daughter.
Little progress for me -- heading in the right direction: baby steps.
I start PT a week from Monday!!!
I'm sure that will help, big-time.

Hi All,
Having a tidy, cook, bake day, to country music today. I just want all to feel cozy and good when I get my kiddywinks back from school for their 1/2 term week off. Their daddy is taking 3 days off next week, so it should be lovely.
Faith, we will take the baby step progress report.. as long as there is some improvement you are on the right track, bit at a time with no set back is good. Sending you a extra portion of peachy vibes to put a little extra lift in your next excercise walk.
Pat mom.. I am envious of your snow, I loved it when we had our big snow fall here, really reminded me of Canada as a child and the kids just have so much fun with it! It's raining here today, and wilst you don't have to shovel it, it is such a bore for the kids as they can't enjoy their garden. Enjoy!!
To all, big hugs coming over the pond.
ps: Arnie, hope you are starting to feel better.
xx

Hi everybody!!! Catching up on a bit of news.... Shiny..I think I am now sharing your "lemonette" status!!! We can be called the "lemonettes" lol Lots of knee and shoulder pain and seeing my general doc for the high blood pressure on Wednesday. Enough about me!
Faith...my sweet dh remembers to mention your name every night during our "grace" before dinner. He also includes all my other sistahs... Hope PT does the trick for you...
Can't remember everything else I read but sending good vibes to all my sistahs! Coonie are you getting snow????
I haven't been getting on the computer much...takes all my strength to keep up with the house etc. but think of you all soooooooooo often!
xoxoxoxo (((((((((((hugs)))))))))))
-
Arnie, so good to see you post! Remember, you have all the cummulative effects of your treatments still to get out of your system....
Gentle hugs....
-
Its Friday ladies so I enlisted some help for this dreaded job.
-
Arnie ... please rest and get that blood pressure under control so you can play with Trent and Lilah. I really miss you from the boards but I understand.
Mary ... so glad to hear you are doing better.
Faith ... whereabouts will you be in Virginia? Nancy, Anna, and me all live in Virginia ... maybe lunch?
Lucy ... when you hear about another sister passing over it just sucks the life out of you with such sadness. Please God, a cure for breast cancer now before we lose anyone else.
Coonie ... how good it is to see you post!! I always miss you but I understand about taking a break. I would too but I would be hopelessly behind in the news!
PatMom ... you have sparked my interest in yoga. I think I will try to arrange attendance at a class. I need some flexibility; having to mostly stay off my foot has me so stiff I am poping 600 mg of Advil like it was M&Ms.
Sharon ... good for you!!!!!!!!!!
Barbe ... those are my favorite colors too ... teal wasn't always but everytime I wore it someone would say "that color really makes your eyes green;" so now I wear it every chance I get.
Shiny ... glad you had a great weekend with your DD and so sorry to hear you are not feeling well. As for the dizziness, I have had it all my life and it is miserable. My sister also has it (from Meniere's syndrom). We have Bonine all over the house in case of an attack. (Bonine is a pill for motion sickness and it is over the counter. Works just as well as prescription meds.
Gosh, there are days I wish I had a magic wand to make everyone feel better.
-
Oh Kathleen - where in Virginia are you? My sister is in Annandale and I pop down to see her on occasion... if ya'll are close by I would love to meet next time I'm down there.
-
Coonie - sorry I did not answer your questions
, life with Missy the kitty is lovely, she has grown a lot, has figured out how to go UP stairs but not Down stairs. Much of my day is bringing her down again. Kiddies are fine, doing well at school and already making plans for the summer (dd is back at her beloved gymnastics camp for yr 2 of coaching and ds is planning on traveling about the US for a bit after graduation). I have had some issues w/ a tooth that should be pulled but no one wants to because of concerns about osteonacrosis of jaw since I was on monthly Zometa of 2 yrs...today the oral surgeon has me back at the dentist to try something else that might resolve the issue and hopefully the chronic infection I've had
. Dh is not so D at the moment but is doing fine - lots on his plate. Mom is doing great! Spent some time with my sister last week and it was wonderful - she is in Virginia and recently retired from the Navy (30 yrs), we played. We are shoveled out from the snow earlier this week, it looks pretty. How is all in your world?
-
Just wishing all my bunny friends a Happy Valentine's Day!!
EWB--so glad the kitty is keeping you company:) It sounds like you've got alot going on.Ohhhhh I hope you get that tooth fixed soon. There's nothing worse than a tooth ache..........well, of couse breast cancer is, but tooth aches are right up there too.
Everything is good in my world. We're getting some BEAUTIFUL snow this morning. I know alot of you sisters are probably sick of it, but we hardly EVER see snow, so we're just in awe. My dogs don't like it at all. Their chest drags on the snow and it's just tooooo cold for them to go out. Spoiled rotten is what they are!!
Hope all of you have a wondermous weekend!!!
-
I am from Ashburn, Nancy is from Alexandria and Anna is from Leesburg. You're close enough! It looks like mid-March. I am starting to get excited! I would like to know where Faith will be in Virginia. Wouldn't that be awesome, Faith, Anna, Nancy and you and me.
If I left any one out in Virginia, let me know.
-
ohh count me in! March 13 - 20 is a little tricky for me but any time else is great. I am excited at the possibility of meeting !
-
Kathleen and others in Virginia: There is a NORTHERN VIRGINIA thread and we plan a meet up on Feb 28. Last time there were about 8 of us. Coyote Junction, at eeer, ummm, I will update when I figure out the exact location.
Also 5 of us who met at Georgetown during chemo. We usually meet at Tyson's once a month or so. Alexandria is very Metro friendly... hint, hint... but I have a map and allow plenty of time so I can get lost and find my way again.
As Cherry Blossom time approaches, we could meet at the Smithsonian metro area - food is not too far away, as I remember. Don't forget I am a sort of newbie or Non native, to the area...
-
Here is the link for Northern Virginia: hope it works:

Oh Wow!!
A meet-up. Always THE best!!
I wanna go to England and meet Shiny-gal.
I'm willing..... but would need to get a new passport. LOL.
I will be in Richmond, VA. My gig is on a Sat. I think it's the 20th?? Don't have calendar in front of me. I have no idea if this is near to anything/anyone.... but would love to meet up, if anyone is close by. I will be crazy busy all day Sat. ****my "triumphant" return to my life!!! But could plan on lunch the Fri before if I'm near anyone.
xx00xx00xx00xx
Hugs to all. Especially to our Elaine and her tooth conundrum.
Arnie. So great to see you pop thru..... please be good to yourself!!!!
My brain is toooo goofy to make a list. You know who you are & how much you mean to me.
xx00xx00xx00xx
I just got off the phone. Since I have been so "public" about my BC others know. Anyhow, one of the directors of a preschool in OH was just dx and she said, "I know who I can call" and she was able to track me down.
We do stand up for our sisters. In some bizarre way it makes me 'glad' to have been so candid, in that she knew she could call me in the midst of her initial fears.
Love & hugs and more love & hugs.
We make it through together. Today I'm four weeks out from surgery and I think I can imagine the light at the end of the tunnel. LOL!!
Love you.
-
I hope you told her about this site!
-
ooh - the 28th of February?
Hugs to Faith.
Back from dentist - tooth is ground down to below gum level, but not to bone, roots have been separated and I am drooling out the side of my mouth
. Hopefully the root areas will heal over separately, where ever stuff is coming from to keep area infected we hope is eliminated and the gum will heal over the whole thing. I will have a gap in tooth line but luckily its in the back. No implants for me.
