Ok, I finished rads 8 days early no boosts, so now I am considering heading to Vancouver for the olympics. I went to Salt Lake City on my own, and did pretty well, but if would be fun to meet any ladies from this site.

Bumping for Cookiegal.   Have a wonderful trip -- and if the U.S. athlete has no chance of a medal, but the Cdn one does, I hope you'll do the right thing!!!!!!

    Hugs, Linda

I am leaning towards doing this....probably the 19 or 20-24.

I was in SLC a whole week, but I think 3-4 days will be fine.

cool....I am so tired from rads, but I am done (no boosts, big surprise) so I think by the 19th/20th I should feel up to it!

I loved going to SLC, and it's not too expensive.

A bump brings the topic back up to the top of the main page of new topics. It happened when you asked, and will happen again when I answer....cool, eh?

Sierra, that's so sweet, but Vancouver (especially during the Olympics) isn't an inexpensive place! Cookiegal, do consider the crowds...you can always go in better weather, too.

I have been before, I actually wanted to go to the Olympics, I went to SLC for 8 days, and had a pretty grand adventure. I stayed with the people who sold cowbells and helped distribute olympic cowbells for room and board!

Getting tickets to many events was pretty simple, many times you can get tickets below face value, if it is not a hot event.

They sell a lot of cowbells at the winter olympics btw, and I tied ribbons on a bunch of them.

yeah, they ring them at ski races! That condo was packed with thousands of cowbells. It was surreal!

Opening Ceremonies tonight (I think ... lol I came to the other side of the world to get away from the crowds and confusion)... Cookie are you going?  I think there will be a lot of event tickets available, but downtown hotels are mostly booked and very expensive.  There are plenty of hotels in the burbs, if you want to ask about any of them I'll do my best to tell you where they are / transit accessability (it's already a commuter's nightmare) and what they're really like.

If you're thinking Whistler be ready for high prices.  They were high (JMHO) before the Olympics.

There are three ski hills on the "North Shore" (right in the city)  snowboarding is at one of them, Cypress, I think (they were trucking snow in).

lol the "Green Games" no snow in Vancouver and I hear the cherry trees are starting to blossom.  Take warm clothes for the ski events and spring clothes to wear in the city.  Don't forget an umbrella!

Let me know if there's any info you need.  Couldn't even watch the ceremonies online ... internet is so flaky here.  I don't get home until the 26th.  She
