Dimpling

Hi

I had a sterotactic biopsy about three weeks ago,  I am due for a wire localisation excisional next week.  Anyway, a week or so ago, as I was getting dressed, I lifted my arm to apply deodorant and, in the mirror, I noticed dimpling on the outside curve of my breast, the same breast I had the stereo in a few weeks back. The dimpleing is still there but is only noticeable when I lift my arm,  Is this someting to be alarmed about or is it due to the bx?  Before the bx. I did not notice it, but at that time, I was not really aware of my breasts, now every twitch I notice.  Could it be because of the biopsy?

yes, it definitely can be from the biopsy. I had my biopsy 6.5 years ago and still have dimpling in the area. The wire localization is not painful, just a lot of pressure--just make sure they numb you up well beforehand.

It could be from the biopsy but I'd ask about it at your next biopsy.  If the person doing the biopsy is not your BS, be sure to ask your BS also.  It pays to be cautious.   My gyn thought the slight dimpling of my nipple was nothing.  Turned out to be IDC and DCIS thoughout the breast!
