Why is brest cancer so commercialized?

Options

Everywhere I go, brest cancer is being used to make a profit. With all that money spent to spread awareness, we could have used that money to help find a cure for a REAL cancer like cervical cancer or prostate cancer. Breast cancer is THE most treatable cancer in the world, so have fun with your excuse to wear pink and buy pink cookies and some other bull. As for me, I dont give a crap about any cancer of any form because we all have to die someday, why not from cancer.

Since you "don't give a crap", then do us the courtesy of not posting again. Have a long and happy life.

I would love to say the word "troll" right now.  It  just jumped into my head, and I have no idea why.

But, if I did speak that word, one particular BCO sister would come over here and wag her finger at me.  She would scold me-- no, reprimand me -- for being suspicious of the "integrity" (I'd say motives) of a very recent BCO registrant who has no history here and, IMHO, is up to no good.

If I actually said "up to no good," though, I'd get another finger-wagging.  So I won't.

    Someone else can say it.

[P.S.:  It's pretty odd when someone here misspells the word "breast".  And then does it twice...  when all he/she has to do is look a few inches higher, to the top of the screen, and copy the word from the header.  But, I would never criticize someone else's spelling, because my laptop keyboard is dropping the letter "t" all the time.  Maybe that person's keyboard is dropping the letter "a".  Or maybe not.]

I am with Otter on this one, and I herewith state everything she is thinking and not posting.

Hippycrusher, your statement:  "Breast cancer is THE most treatable cancer in the world, so have fun with your excuse to wear pink and buy pink cookies and some other bull" is

No. 1--ignorant--do you know nearly 50,000 men and women die of breast cancer every year?

No. 2--offensive--we ladies here on this board are mourning the loss of so many of our sisters in the last few months/years.  We don't need to hear "As for me, I dont give a crap about any cancer of any form because we all have to die someday, why not from cancer."

Unless and until you are diagnosed with cancer, please go away.

If, God forbid, you are diagnosed with breast cancer, please come back and you will be welcomed and supported by all of the folks here through your treatment.

Unless and until then, what the heck are you doing here on these boards?

Please leave us--I cannot think of anything positive happening in our community because of your ignorant posts.

Post reported. All of which just goes to show there are worse things than breast cancer -- like a life given over to this sort of senseless unkindness and insensitivity.

Hi, Elaine, Otter, Jane and Fightinhrd!Smile Hugs to you all. Onward!

    Otter, I say Troll.

Shame on him/her.  How do we go about getting them banned?

I don't know, Jane.  This person clearly does not belong on these boards.  it makes me sick that he/she has resurfaced.  But, he/she has only had 4 posts removed so far, and that's not enough to get banned.  (Or, if it is, the banning has expired by now.)  The other two posts are stupid but they don't seem to violate any of the Community Rules.

I think we just bide our time...   People like this either give up or make enough mistakes to catch themselves.

    Diagnosis -NONE ?

Feb. 31, 2010 ? The humor of some slime balls sickens me. They could be doing so much more with their lives...like helping people. Ignore, ignore, ignore!

If you look at her bio she says she has Infiltrating or Inflammatory breast cancer, stage IV.  Of course, every single one of her posts in November, December and January have been deleted by the community.

artsee ... I thought her diagnosis date was interesting too!

    Elaine ... good one!

I hope she does live a long life - at least long enough to get some sense and, like the tinman, a heart.  Wait, she has the same needs as all the characters in the Wizard of Oz - she needs a brain, a heart and some courage as she is hiding behind anonymity. .
