CORRECTION
If you wanna see the Kansas City Pictures of the Ta Ta's you will have to pm ~ROCKWELL_GIRL here... ( Sandy Sunshine) ... she put up her own place on Shutterfly...:)....
Packer and Diane also have tons of pictures they will add when they can...
-
Laura, Thanks for the "friends" pep talk. It's just me, never wanna be a bother ya know. Nobody has EVER made me feel out of place here--that's why I keep returning. :-)Tracey, I can go any weekend except the weekend of Sept 11, but I don't think that's been discussed. What is "paint the square"?Julie
-
No go for me on the September 25th date. I will be doing the Susan G. Komen 3 day walk in Seattle that weekend. I could do the 1st, 2nd or 4th weekend in October.
-
The first weekend of October is the only weekend I have a conflict. I can, and will, go any other weekend.
Our Ta-Ta Reunion has become so popular, and so many sisters would like to come, it will be an agonizing choice to pick the weekend, because no matter what weekend is chosen, some sisters will be left out. It is sad; I wish there was a magic weekend out there when we could all come!!!

REGARDING ROOMS AT THE MGM GRAND SIGNATURE:
There is a 1 bedroom suite which has two bathrooms and a full kitchen. It is $179.00 per night plus tax and the $20.00 daily fee as mentioned above. Sleeps 4. We have Starbucks coffee provided to the rooms. Coffeemakers in rooms! [That was an issue last year with the Mirage.] There is also a 2 bedroom suite which is actually a one bedroom along with the junior suite [which I referenced above] and the cost would be the junior suite plus the 1 bedroom suite. IT SLEEPS 8 PEOPLE. A full kitchen - so some meals could be eaten in the room - saving some $$$$. We could even put on a fun dinner for all of us one night. The earlier we book, we can be assured of rooms together. This is a small boutique hotel - which is connected by a covered walkway to the MGM Grand. If we are not ALL right next to each other, there are three sections to the Signature, and each one is under a one minute walk to the other.
October is the month chosen by the overwhelming number of people.
The following weekends seem to be the most popular: October 1st through 4th and October 15th through 18th - with the latter date being considered into the "prime" season in Vegas and rooms would be $5.00 more per day.
Just some other things to consider....
Deborah

WE COULD CREATE OUR OWN PAINT THE SQUARE PINK:
You hand me $25.00 cover charge and I will supply all of the wine and appetizers. We could put on our own fashion show. Or groups of us could get together and put on a skit for each other. And we can give the remainder of the money to breastcancer.org.
-
OH NO.....Now you've done it! You say perform and you have caught Susie and Jazzy's ear!!!
-
Laura - thanks for the 'newbie' welcome. I'm looking forward to actually meeting all of you this year - hope it works out.....

HOTEL PRICES: If some of you want to call around and find out what kind of room rate we could get at one of the hotels, that would be great for comparison. We have to take into consideration that all of the hotels charge an additional "per person" rate over two persons in a room. The fee is typically $30.00 to $35.00 per person, which adds another $70 to $75 per day to the bill. So let's do some comparison shopping this week. Anyone have any contacts?
-
Hello everyone, hope you are doing good.
Deborah, I think Tracey is going to call group sales at the Mirage and other hotels to get rates. She posted that last night I think. Hopefully she will be able to come up with some prices and then decide.
Jazzy I cannot wait to see what you and Susie put together. After all you are the "Dancing Queens" of Vegas.
Teresa I really hope you and your crew can make it, it would not be the same without you.
I hope you guys have a great week.

The rooms that sleep 8 sound like fun, Deborah. Is that MORE than the $500 (or so) per weekend per room that you quoted for the one that sleeps 4? MGM Grand, by the way, is right across the street from New York NY and the Signature at MGM is behind the main hotel (I believe)... so basically a close walk (someone had voted for that).
Rooms that sleep 8 sound like a blast to me
Once Tracey has a comparable at the Mirage (or wherever she is calling) we can make an informed decision.

Updating on the TaTa Reunion One and a Half--------
What a blast. I have totally redesigned our secure website for posting of reunion pictures. I asked Sunshine to put her photos there instead of her own shutterfly account. I will get around to uploading mine very soon.
Thanks again Laura for hosting us!! It was a great time.
-
Oh and Jancie- You wanted to be near the Piano Bar this year... The MGM is right across the street from the NYNY-- so I could give you a horsey back ride home!
-
Great to see you Packergirl!! I have to say I feel so much better these days and am starting to work out at the gym with a private trainer starting tonight!!! Gosh that trip was just rough for me completing radiation the very day I flew to Vegas. Time sure has flown by!
I do want to comment on the 8 people per room thing - yes....it sounds great.....but how many snore loudly? Who comes in at 3 am and wakes everyone up or gets up at 5 am and wakes everyone up? Just a thought to consider - we do functions together at least once or twice a day so we are always meeting up so sleeping a large group in a room isn't totally necessary since we don't spend much time in our rooms to begin with. JMHO.
As far as the coffee thing - we can bring our own coffee makers if needed. I know I could bring one of those small hotel coffee makers with me in my suitcase.
-
That is one of the benefits with the MGM Grand Signature.. Those who would like to be 8 in a room have that option with the 2 bd, 2 ba - which has a huge living room and a full 1,500 square feet of space. Or you can have 4 per room with the 1 bd and it will still have 2 bathrooms and it is 1,000 sq. feet. Or just the studio/junior suite which also sleeps 4 but those who want to room by themselves or with just one other person - this would work for them. And, as packergirl stated, it is right across the street from your piano bar Jancie! It gives us a more intimate space - a living room with sofas and chairs - for hanging around and chatting with one another - for those of us who want to do so. It offers the best of both worlds: Close proximity to gambling and nightclubs for those who are party animals - and spacious, opulent solitude for those who are not!
-
I think it sounds WONDERFUL!!! VERY SPECIAL... FOR A GROUP OF VERY SPECIAL WOMEN!!
-
whippetmom - I still have chemo fog. I totally missed the fact that the condo suites were on the strip. For some reason I was picturing them off the strip across the freeway and we would have to take a cab to every single place we went to. I am so sorry for being so confused. I might have some hair now but I still don't have a brain! Oh yes.....I was a natural blonde before chemo so maybe there lies the answer to me being so stupid! I was going to say "dingy" but that I wasn't quite sure how to spell it and then I thought "hmm...they are going to think I am dirty instead of an airhead"
This private trainer I am meeting tonight is going to have a field day with me for sure since I can't get it together today. I can't think of words, I can't spell - cancer sucks!
-
Packer... thank you for the picture site ( Shutterfly) change... to have all the pictures... of all reunions is priceless and so fun for all TaTa's to look at...
PS PACKER... I am looking into your Hair issue...LOL... I will get back to you.
-
Hey, it's cookie gal here, I'm a newbie. I am fine to stay anywhere, I think the condos sound nice.
I will be at the Aladdin from the 3-5th of October.
I have stayed in the Hilton (blah), Ceasar's (which I love), Riviera (double blah), and Green Valley ranch which is nice.
I have always wanted to stay at Paris or Mandalay or the Palms, but I am cool with anywhere. Hard Rock is nice as well. Even TI/Mirage is very central.
I met my husband at the Wynn BTW, got married at Flamingo, and had the reception at CP.
Cheers!
It sounds like October 1-4 is a real possibility!!! That would be soo exciting. I could be a roomie for the first 2 nights, then I will head to my convention.
-
I think the suites sound wonderful! I really enjoyed staying at the Mirage, but, in my opinion, it had one flaw: we were not close together in the hotel, and there was nowhere the whole group could easily meet and visit. The bars weren't suitable, and didn't have long enoough hours, since we closed two of them down.
And Deborah's idea of putting on our own show--now that would be marvelous! I would love to see our own Jazzy and Susie's dance routines. I love to sing, and I'm sure we would have other musicians in our midst. The fashion show would be fun for everyone (and we would have plenty of jewelry for the show, right, Jazzy??!). The more I think about it, the better the idea of suites seem to be! It would open up lots of fun possibilities for us.....
-
I like the idea of the 8 person suites. There were many of the gals that I did not have the opportunity to spend any time with on the last trip. Having a living room where we can hang out and chat sounds lovely. (Of course, I'll go along with whatever is decided and whatever time is decided. I can't wait!)
-
Not to mention: the MGM casino is huge and will keep the gamblers happy lol
Lilah (the gambler)
-
Cookie -- I love Caesar's too! The Paris is very nice (I've stayed there several times) but it's huge and rambling and, I suspect, would not give us the intimate proximity that the condos seem to offer.

OK, last year when you all went to Vegas I was sick as a dog from chemo and couldn't even walk to the mailbox. That will not be the case this year! Count me in...and the good news is that I am painfully flexible and will go where ever y'all decide on what ever date you choose! WooooooHoooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LET'S GET THIS PARTY STARTED
-
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ARE WE GETTING EXCITED OR WHAT?????????
I am just sad if we have to leave some out because of the date. I suppose that's gonna happen no matter what date we choose.
I'm with Robin...I didn't get to spend time with her until the last night! WAH! I think the suites sound marvalous! Time to really spend time together!! Vegas is Vegas and we all will find things that we want to do, but if we are rooming closer together we will have more time to visit! I wish we had more of that last time!
2 of my faves and a must are: piano bar and Belagio's champagne brunch!!! And go late enough to get the crab!!!
Freemont street which Susie, Clare and I didn't get to do...def need to do that this time.
I can hardly wait to see how long the list of tata sisters will be!!!
WOOO HOOO!!!
-
Fremont Street is a total blast -- and so is the champagne brunch at Bellagio! I've never tried that Piano Bar but I am game
Now I am going to have to figure out how to tell my boyfriend that he can't come... lol

My vegas faves....Mixx, the bar in The Hotel, amazing best drinks ever and back in my single days...well the men lined up like planes waiting to land!
Ghost in the palms is fun, but a scene on the weekend.
Buffet in Planet Hollywood, I think is the best hands down.
Payard in CP made my insanely good wedding cake, and the NYC branch is gone!
Rao's in CP is fun.
Pierro's is a local's favorite and had the best creamed corn ever.
We like the food at Tao as well.
And I just like to chill at Mandalay.
Oh Canyon Ranch club in Venetian, and gondola ride.
And I liked the bar in the Eiffel tower.
Ok, so even if I am not there, you have my picks!
oh and for gambling, I like the centerfuge bar in MGM.
And Red Rock....the rock not the casino.
