Apple
That is so great. My DH and I bought part of a farm one year after my dx and we built a new house. It actually turned out to be a really fun thing and was great for getting my mind off of bc.We've been here a couple of years now and I love it. Your property looks wonderful...You'll make it your own place, sounds like you got a great deal. Happy drywalling!

What fun! Gotta love a project!
My dh and I gutted and renovated our house after his mom died a few years ago. It was good to do something so positive!
Have fun!
-
OH Apple, how utterly EXCITING!!!! I'm excited for you - it looks wonderful! What a beautiful lot, and the house has just a ton of potential!!! A lot of work, yes, but wow - how fun to be able to do exactly what you want, and not have to accept what someone else decided on! I'm envious! Way to move on ... can we live vicariously through your project, LOL?!
-
I looked at those pictures and I had to laugh, because I cannot even get my husband to think about buying a house that needs a kitchen remodel. Could I xerox your husband please?
Congratulations! And what I would not give for 2 plus acres also!
-
Wow....apple it looks so wonderful.
How exciting.......I personally love the process of making a house ....a home.
You've got your hands full there but I am sure there will be a lot of satisfaction when it is complete.
Congratulations and may the home bring you and your family only good things.

Blogger is so simple and you can customize it yourself in terms of layout design. And it's free:))))
I was just thinking yesterday about how you move on with your life after bc. Do I buy a car, do I plan on buying a house, etc.... Like do I wait to find out if I am dying or do I live like I will live till 80.
I prayed on it-this is my answer:)
so inspiring to see you go on with your life.
You go girl and congratulations.
Heres to years of memories in your new home.
-
what else can I do Pure?
it will be an accomplishment to get my family moved and settled onto this property. It'll be nice.
-
We are buying a boat and putting up the garage we always talked about. I am becoming a personal trainer and a notary this month. I will live til the day I die.
-
If you stop living you may as well have died.....I still think like I am going to live to be 100! (and hope we all do)
-
Congrats on the new house and the memories to follow!!!!
-
Wow, it looks great! DH and I have spent years working on our little fixer upper. It was supposed to be our "starter house" but over 8 years later we're still here. We were actually in the process of finalizing plans for a new one when I was diagnosed and we cancelled the contract. I'm glad. We have so much blood, sweat and tears in this place (literally!) that it would have broken my heart to actually move out!
-
Looks like it will be great - to fix it and to live in it.

Apple, Looks like you and Mr. Apple have found just the project you have been wanting. What a fabulous feeling it must be, starting out on this with all those possibilities dancing in front of you. I hope you will keep us steeped in plans and pictures. I love this.

It's made me really nervous about my cancer. HOpe I don't leave them high and dry.
(stop that)
-
You won't, we'll be having wheelchair races when we are old and shrivelled, remember!
-
funny..
we have a bunch of wheelchairs... we buy them at sales for all the old people we know
anyway the boys in the neighborhood DO have wheelchair races..
i wonder what people think when they see them overturned in the yards.
-
Apple, LOL!!!
See, you're already starting to plan happy memories in your new place! You might want to mention your "collection" to your neighbors before the authorities start staking out your house, LOL!
-
Hey Apple! I've been waiting to see more pix!
