I had my mammogram this morning on my healthy breast...it didn't take long, but it sure did hurt! It wasn't the machine that hurt it, it was the girl who positioned my breast on the machine. She pushed and squeezed hard! Ouch! Anyway, you think I will get it for half price since it was only one boob?? lol

ccbaby and nasharayen...looks like we share a cancerversary
Jan. 29th was mine as well.
We are celebrating my one year out with a Thanksgiving-style dinner, which seemed fitting since the gratitude is flowing freely these days
ccbaby...my hair looks just like yours, too! I need to update my pic.
Warmly,
Nadine

Dayla! Hope all goes well with the call back!!
Chris! Sorry to hear of your sons friends! I have a teenager and I feel like I just want to keep her with me all of the time!!!
I read this thread daily, but don't often comment! Nice to hear from friends from the past!! Dawn

Francine - Thanks for your response to my budget concerns. I really would like to join in and meet everyone face to face.
Michelle - Thank you so much for the offer to ride with you. As I said I'm a country girl not a city girl. Getting to the Big Apple solo is way out of my comfort zone.
Chris - So sorry to hear about your son's friends. I will keep them in my prayers.
Dayla - Good luck with your results, well wishes to you.
-
Chris, I'm so sorry about your sons' friends. What a horrible tragedy
Michelle
-
Chris what awful news, and how brave of their parents. I will be praying for them and for your sons too.
Dayla fingers crossed for you.
-
Oh Chris..What a terrible tragedy. Hope all stay strong in this difficult time. Please do keep us updated on the other young man.
Dayla..Do hope all goes well with your mammogram. How great to make your trek a charitable event ..
Patti..We will really try to make your trip to the city a pleasant event.
I had my final breast fill today. I am now scheduled to have my exchange on March 17th.. St. Patricks day. Wish me the Luck of the Irish. I finally almost see the light at the end of my tunnel.
So nice to hear from some of you.
My hair continues to grow more and more curly. I just love it. I must say my eyebrows have never really grown since the summer and my eyelashes are still sparse .
Chris..our thoughts and prayers are with you and your friends and family.
Hugs,
Francine

Dayla - Just checking in to see how you are doing..
-
Kim, thanks for checking on me- I am leaving in a few minutes to go in. Afterwards I'm staying in town to run some errands and then having dinner with ccbaby and gramof3 (from feb Furies). I figure if it doesn't go well (like if they don't like what they see and want me to have a biopsy- who better to hang out with than a couple other BC survivors. I feel calm today- yesterday I let myself go crazy with the what ifs and was a bit of a wreck. I'll report in later tonight. I also hope to take some pics with the three of us and my new haircut to post.
-
Enjoy your dinner with the girls....don't worry, be happy! Things are going to be just fine.

My hair is very curly too, though it is hard to tell from the picture. I love it too, it is very soft. It is long enough now and is starting to lay flatter on top. Someone here was saying their hair turned to frizz when they brushed it. I don't brush my hair, I comb it after I absorb a lot of the moisture out of it. Then it air dries while I dress and eat breakfast. Then I dry it upside down and use my fingers. Then it just seems to go where it wants, I touch it up then use a little of a pasty product don't remember the name, rub that on my hands and through my hair. The product make the hair look less poofy and more defined.
My brows and eyelashes have come back the way they were before chemo.
I have not had a haircut yet. Not planning on that until my bangs need a trim.
Have a good work week all.
Dayla - enjoy your night out, can't wait to see your pictures. Continued prayers and well wishes!
-
Dayla..Hope all went well today. You know we are all praying for you.The dinner with BC friends was a good idea and a terrific way to get that extra support.
Stay strong ..Waiting to hear from you.
Hugs,
Francine

Ok, everything's fine- it was a spot where the tissue got compressed in the original film or something they said- took some more films and ruled out anything. It was a relief but I'm also annoyed that I had to go through it- let myself get all worked up, but hard not to play the what if game.
I had a nice dinner with Helen and Christy- here's a pic of three PFC beauties! I finished in June, Christy in July and Helen in August.

Great pic! You gals are looking great!
-
Great Pictures Dayla. Love the haircut!!!! Your hair looks great too, CC.

Second time with this posting.
Dayla..What great news. We were all rooting for a good report. Our good vibes always help.
Nice photos. Wow what terrific hair. I know that's Christy but is that you Dayla ?
I only see two of you.
So happy that you can go on your journey feeling confident in your health.
Hugs,
Francine

Ladies,
On a lighter note I wanted all to see my curly locks.
I had my DH take photos of both the front and back of my head.
Just love this hair...
Hugs,
Francine
-
Francine what fantastic curls!
Dayla and Christy you both look fabulous. And thank goodness it was a false alarm.
-
Hi All,
just checking in...
Francine! Great curls.. I'm right behind you with growth I think.. It's very curly and soft, but can't grow fast enough for me... lol....
Alyad.. very happy to hear about your results. I can relate to your worries beforehand 100%. I made the appt for my follow up scans a couple of weeks ago. The appt isn't until the beginning of March, but it brought back so many bad memories I almost started to cry... Thankfully, it hasn't dominated my thoughts at all. And your pic with Christy look great!!!
Chris - so sorry to hear about your friends sons.. It's always so much worse when things like this happen to someone so young...
All- I just wanted to check in. I hope you're all well. Work and life in general has been busy lately but I've made my flight arrangements for NYC in April and can't wait to meet everyone. wahoo!!
Take care and have a great week...
Beth

Francine!
Love the curls! I wish mine came in that way. Mine has a wave to it, but it is for sure a lot better than my "old" hair which was as straight as a whip! I'm liking it so far.
Take care all!
-
Francine- Love the Curls!
there are three of us in the picture- its a big shot- you might have to scroll to the right to see us all- I do. (L to R) Me, Christy, Helen.
-
Dayla,
Now I only see you. I don't believe one can scroll on this board. How is the trip prep going?
Do other ladies see three the of you. Maybe the chemo has played tricks on my eyes.
Hugs,
Francine
-
Francine...your eyes are fine! Sometimes I don't see any pics and then other times, they just pop up! I see all three ladies...and they do look wonderful!
-
Francine - your hair is about the same as mine. Mine may be a little thinner and a tad longer.
Great News Dayla!!
-
How strange is this.
Now I see two of them Dayla and Christy..Really odd...It must be the computer and how it presents the pictures. Before there was only one..
Hugs,
Francine
-
Francine...LOL with the way the pics keep showing up on your computer. And your hair is so thick and curly! I love it!
Thanks everyone! I had a great time with Dayla and Gramof3!! We are going to do it again as soon as Dayla gets back from her hike.
-
Welcome home...Beth.
We missed you.
Hugs,
Francine
-
Hey ladies,
How is the snow by you?
Hugs,
Francine
