Can Arnica cause swelling?

I had an excisional biopsy Friday and on Saturday morning began taking arnica 5 pellets sublingual 3 times a day. This morning I woke up and my face was so puffy that I could not hardly see, this is my 3rd biopsy since June and I have never had this happen and Arnica is the only difference in my m.o. any thoughts?

What is arnica and what is it used for? It sounds like you are having an allergic reaction to it. I would stop taking it and call your doctor------it's late, but his answering service can call him --he may want you to go to the ER.

Thank you ladies I will not be taking anymore of this it obviously doesn't agree with me...it was recommended for post surgical bruising, swelling etc. but like all things whats good for one person isn't necessarily good for another.

Nan: Thanks for the links. Indeed, the only use I ever knew for Arnica was homeopathic (i.e, in trace amounts). I am not surprised at all that it is capable of causing serious allergies in its other forms.
