program to prevent hair loss
Do you have any suggestions to prevent hair loss during chemotherapy ?
Have you ever heard about the ThymuSkin Hair Loss Program?
It is shampoo, gel , lotion to apply every day starting before getting the first chemo....
thanks

Hi There! So sorry you have to be thinking of this. I know nothing about the products you mentioned, but there's quite a following on these boards for this:
I personally haven't used them because I didn't have to go through chemo. But my sister does have to go through chemo (she has bc too) and is planning to use these. From our research, I believe they may work. Perhaps you'll get some responses from someone who is actually using them now. Good luck!

Hi, I am sorry you are having to go through this. I used the Penguin Cold Caps during my treatment and they did work for me. Other than that, I don't know of anything. Good luck to you.

I have used the Penguin Cold Caps to prevent hair loss, and for me they absolutely worked! I strongly recommend that all women look into this; PCC's are used around the world and are just catching on here (when introduced in the US about 15 years ago the medical establishment rejected them as nontraditional). I am having my 4th/final round of chemo on Monday and I have a full head of hair (my body hair disappeared around day 14, as would have my head hair were it not for the caps).
There's an active group here, Cold Caps users past and present, please visit!
Best,
Susan

I really wanted to do the Penguin Cold Caps. I am seeking a second opinion, but my first oncologist tore the release form for them in half. Not all oncologists are open to this program, unfortunately! The research isn't vetted in the US, that seemed to be her primary beef.
