Triple Negative Apocren Invasive
I have a rare tumor that is 1 in 1000. Is there anyone out there that had the same diagnosis and did not have chemo therapy? I am TN, Apocrine(key word here) invasive, Stage 1,Grade 1 and my tumor is slow growing. In most Triple Negatives the cancer cells are agressive and have gone into lymph nodes. In my case the cells are not agressive and no lymph nodes were involved. There is no info out there on my type of brest cancer but they just treat it like normal TN and prescribe chemo and radiation.
I have had my lst round of chemo but have never been convinced I should poison my body on the come, I am considering quiting now and just doing radiation. I have very little reaction ( hair is starting to go) but it is the fact that chemo is poison that I cannot wrap my head around.
Any feed back from someone who has this diagnosis (rare as it is, someone must have) would be greatly appreciated
Thanks

Sally - I too am triple negative but my BC was very aggressive. I believe you need to do what is best for you. Hopefully someone with the same diagnosis will see you post and respond. Hang in there! You will be in my thoughts and prayers that you will make the right decision for you!

I too am triple negative. Is your tumor vascualr invasive? If it is then I would 100% do chemo. For me though I am taking every precaution. My tumor was aggressivre grade 3 & 8.5 out of 9 on the histo scale. I did not ahve it in my lymph nodes yet but I ahve seen those without having the cancer spread to their lymph nodes have it return so I am taking every precaution. I did the FEC-D chemo after a dble mast.

Chemo may be poison, but cancer is a far more dangerous poison.

Well we each have to do what we feel is best for us.....NO QUESTION for ME....I did it ALL....well still doing it.....Double mastectomy, 6 months chemo, Did #26 of my 32 radiation treatments this morning.....I am what they call (young)...36,,,,,Well I felt like I had to do ALL they offered...I even asked for MORE chemo....but of course it was in 3 of my lymph nodes. I hope you are doing ok and I cant say that ANYONE could really answer that question. I was told Lumpectomy would be JUST FINE.....well again.....This whole thing SHOCKED ME...I am the first in my family with ANY cancer.....I did not fit the HIGH RISK category...Had kids very young, nursed....and tested Neg. for the BRCA 1 and 2 gene...SOOOOOO still trying to FIGURE THIS OUT. I was waiting on 40 to get my first mammo....When I told breast surgeon I wanted them BOTH OFF....she told me....well I am suppose to give you the option of lumpectomy but she said (GOOD GIRL) I just felt like OK if that breast FAILED me WHY IN THE HECK WOULDNT THE REST OF THE TISSUE OR FOR THAT MATTER THE OTHER ONE????? Again MY OPINION....Even though there are MANY people who said.....mmmmmm dont want to save your breast.....I DID NOT FEEL THEY DESERVED SAVING.....I jokingly say the right one was GUILTY by association.....As I tell my children....always watch WHO you hang out with.....Hanging with the WRONG people could cost ya......LOL....
With all that rambling....I wish I could answer you.....but I just dont know.....Just do what U feel is best FOR YOU.......
LOTS OF LOVE
MAY GOD BLESS US ALL

Sally,
Sorry you had to join this club. If you go in the search option above and type ''Apocrine'' you will find other ladies that have posted about this king of tumor. Hope this helps
