    Are there other more precise, safer alternatives to mammograms? What prevention is being reasearched?

    It is a MUST that we have a movement forcing the insurance companies to pay for  them.

    We are talking about people's lives! I'm a single parent with a beautiful 7 yo boy that needs me here!!!!

    Monetsgarden(love that place!)-We already have a thread called the alternatives to mammograms. Please check out the info I ,and others have posted there. I went for my 4th therm last week. It gives me such peace of mind to be able to monitor any changes in my breasts with the images that my doctor sends me, and I keep on my own computer. They are painless and safe, as opposed to mammos. The only way we are going to get them to be more accepted is to insist that we have the right to this method, and lobby our insurance companies to accept them. I get around the cost a bit by signing up for an insurance plan than has a very low monthly premium.We end up with a bigger deductible, but it allows me more freedom to choose my own care options. We end up acutally paying less in the long run.
