Confused

I am new to this board but have been reading the postings for a few months and am encouraged by the postings that I am not alone in my confusion and topsy-turvy emotions. Two weeks ago I had a bilateral masectomy - diagnosis was IDC in both breasts. Left is ER+,PR+, Right is ER+, PR-, both are Her2Neu- (I add this as many of you are more knowledgeable about what this means than I am right now.) My dilemma is that of the 6 nodes biopsied, one on the left came back micromestasized (1.3mm) and I am not sure if I should proceed with chemo or oncotype and go with those results. I will be on Tamoxofin as I feel comfortable that the benefits of this drug outweigh its risks. But will Tamox plus chemo give me such an added benefit that it is worth the side effects of chemo? I feel good and have been healthy until now and am afraid I will just make myself more susceptible to illnesses.  Any ideas, thoughts, experiences? Sorry if this is too long a post.

Suz6- If you get the oncotype test you and the oncologist can then decide what would be best for you. They have a web that is helpful in understanding all this.

Sorry you had to become a member here but welcome and I think you will find there is lots of help available. Someone will be along soon to add to this I am sure

    Best wishes,

    Pat
