How long did you wait to have the procedure done? I know it may vary from province to province, but just trying to get an idea.

I will be getting my referal next week, will probably see the gynecologist/oncologist in February and will be expressing my interest to have the ooph ASAP. Just want to get this all over with, should have done this a year ago, oh well...lol

Oh ya, Im in B.C.

Thanks!

Lexi, I am just next door in Cowtown. Went to my gyn in April, and she booked me for Aug for a total hystero . I could have gotten in in June but we already had our summer vacation booked for July so she postponed me till then. Hope that helps.

I had mine in Ontario.  Booked it in May for mid July.  Could have booked it end of June but, like pk0199, it coincided with my vacation time perfectly.  I took the rest of the summer off as they were unable to it laprascopically  and gutted me like a fish!

    Omg...PIP.

Thank you for the responses. I was thinking about 3 months or so. Im going to ask my onc if he can push the surgery for me. Kinda nervous about an ooph, but have heard from many woman that recovery is not so bad.

If there is anyone else, I would like to hear from them.

    Thanks.

Don't worry about the healing.  Even my recovery was okay.

I had mine done in MB.  Referral was in Jan. and the surgery was in April.  I had just completed chemo in Jan so the wait did not seem to bad.  Bilateral ooph laprascopically, and hysterectomy vaginally with one overnight in hospital.  Recovery was speedy and tolerated the procedures well.

    Hi Lexislove

I am also in BC, I had my ovaries removed(decided to leave the uterus because c-sections have attached my uterus to my bladder making surgery more difficult).   But I first saw the Gynecologist on Feb 4th, 09 and surgery was April 23, 09. And that was 1 year since diagnosis.  The recovery was not very bad I was out of the hospital the next day and recovering at home.  Even went to Hawaii for a friends wedding 2 weeks later.
